An anaerobically curable composition comprising (i) a curing system for curing an anaerobically curable component, comprising a combination of a metallocene such as n-butyl ferrocene and acetyl phenyl hydrazine, (ii) the anaerobically curable component comprising: a) a solid resin component and b) a solid anaerobically curable monomer; and wherein the composition is in solid form and has a melting point in the range from 30° C. to 100° C. The metallocene may be present in the amount from about 0.05% to about 2.5% by weight based on the total weight of the composition and the acetyl phenyl hydrazine is present in the amount from about 0.05% to about 1.75% by weight based on the total weight of the composition. Compositions show greater bond strengths.

Anaerobically curable compositions comprising a metallacene and acetyl phenyl hydrazine curing system

A bonding system for bonding a plastic substrate to another substrate, the bonding system comprising a plastic substrate wherein the plastic substrate is impregnated with a transition metal; and an anaerobically curable composition. Cure of the anaerobically curable composition is initiatable by the transition metal when the anaerobically curable composition is contacted with the plastic substrate under anaerobic conditions.

Cure of anaerobic compositions

A curable composition based on a curable acrylate or methacrylate component; an organoborane initiator component; a vinyl ether component; and an activator for the organoborane component. The composition exhibits good storage stability and good bonding properties when used to bond low surface energy substrates.

Curable acrylate or methacrylate compositions

An activator composition for accelerating hardening and achieving cure-through-volume of cyanoacrylate adhesives) comprising; (a) one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of :(i) pyrazine; or a pyrazine derivative; said pyrazine derivative being pyrazine substituted with at least one electron-releasing group; (ii) pyridine N oxides substituted with at least one electron-releasing group; or (iii) 2,6 pyridines being pyridines substituted in the 2- and 6-positions by substituents, at least one of the substituents being electron-releasing provided that both substituents are not methyl; and (b) a volatile solvent carrier for the compound.

Process for bonding substrates or parts and system including cyanoacrylate adhesive and accelerator composition

An activator composition for the accelerated hardening of cyanoacrylate adhesives, wherein the activator comprises a member selected from the group consisting of: aromatic heterocyclic compounds having at least one N hetero atom in the ring(s) such as pyridines, quinolines and pyrimidines and substituted on the ring(s) with at least one electron-withdrawing group which decreases the base strength of the substituted compound compared to the corresponding unsubstituted compound, mixtures of any of the foregoing with each other, and/or with N,N-dimethyl-p-toluidine, and mixtures of any of the foregoing and/or N,N-dimethyl-p-toluidine with an organic compound containing the structural element, &#x2014;N&#x2550;C&#x2014;S&#x2014;S&#x2014;, such as dibenzothiazyl disulfide. 6,6'dithiodinicotinic acid, 2,2&#x2032;-dipyridyl disulfide, and bis(4-t-butyl-1-isopropyl-2-imidazolyl)disulfide. An activator composition may comprise a solution of one or more activators in a solvent mixture which comprises a volatile hydrocarbon and a cyclic ketone.
