Maraging steel

A maraging steel preferably without cobalt, having the following chemical composition: Ni 18-23 wt. %, Mo 4.5-8 wt. %, Ti 1-2 wt. %, Al 0-0.3 wt. %, C.ltoreq.0.01 wt. %, remainder Fe and impurities. The composition also preferably satisfies the following conditions:

Austenitic stainless steel for use when hot

A method for obtaining a product from pre-alloyed powders in which the powders are subjected to compaction treatment. The powders are first subjected to pre-treatment under low pressure (or without pressure) at a temperature such that segregating materials precipitate out in stable phases.

Process of grain enlargement in consolidated alloy powders

Superalloy with a nickel base matrix having good mechanical properties when ot in respect of tensile strength, creep resistance, low cycle fatigue and resistance to crack-propagation of which the composition in percentages by weight is as follows: Cr 11 to 13; Co 8 to 17; Mo 6 to 8; Nb less than or equal to 1.5; Ti 4 to 5; Al 4 to 5; Hf less than or equal to 1; C, B, Zr each less than or equal to 500 ppm; Ni remainder to 100. The alloy can be manufactured advantageously by powder metallurgy techniques and used in the manufacture of turbo machine disks.

Superalloy compositions with a nickel base

A monocrystalline alloy with a high resistance to creep having a nickel base matrix, with a density of the order of 8.5 and having a percentage, by weight, composition as follows: Co 5 to 8%--Cr 6.5 to 10%--Mo 0.5 to 2.5%--W 5 to 9%--Ta 6 to 9%--Al 4.5 to 5.8%--Ti 1 to 2%--Nb 0 to 1.5%--C, Zr, and B each less than 100 ppm--Ni remainder to 100%. Furthermore, the summation Ta+Mo+1/2 W lies between 11.5% and 13.5% by weight, the atomic sum Ti+Al+Ta+Nb lies between 15.5% and 17%, the atomic sum Ta+Nb+Mo+1/2 W lies between 4% and 5.5%, the atomic sum Ti+Al+Ta+Nb+Mo+1/2 W lies between 17.5% and 19% and the atomic sum Ti+Al lies between 12.8% and 14.5%.

Monocrystalline alloy with a nickel matrix basis

An alloy which is resistant to high temperature oxidation includes by weight 15 to 30% of chromium, at least 10% of nickel, at least 20% of iron, 4 to 6% of aluminum and at least 0.001% of at least one metal belonging to the group formed by the rare earths and metals in the same category, such as yttrium and scandium.

Alloy resistant to high temperature oxidation

Cobalt based alloy containing 5% to 30% Ni; 18% to 25% Cr; 5% to 17% of at least one of W, Ta and Mo; 0.10% to 0.30% C; 50 ppm to 200 ppm B; 0 to 0.3% Fe; 0 to 2% Mn; 0 to 1% HF; 0 to 1% La; 0 to 1% Y; 0.5% to 2% in total of Ti and/or Nb, the balance being Co; and a heat treatment for such alloy comprising solution heat treatment in a protective atmosphere at 1150.degree. C to 1250.degree. C for at least 1 hour, rapid cooling, and then age hardening for from 12 to 24 hours at from 750.degree. C to 850.degree. C to effect carbide precipitation of MC carbides, M being titanium or niobium.
