A control device includes a button assembly having one or more buttons and a button carrier that includes a plurality of resilient, independently deflectable spring arms. The control device may be configured as a wall-mounted keypad to control a load control device, or as a thermostat to control a temperature regulation appliance. The button carrier may be configured to prevent interference between the buttons during operation of the control device. The button assembly may be captured between a faceplate of the control device and a housing that is attached to a rear side of the faceplate. The control device may include one or more button retainers that are attached to the buttons and that are configured to align respective outer surfaces of the buttons relative to each other, and relative to the faceplate of the control device, when the buttons are in respective rest positions.

Control devices having independently suspended buttons for controlled actuation

Methods and apparatus for distribution and execution of instructions in a distributed computing environment are disclosed. An example apparatus includes memory; first instructions; and processor circuitry to execute the first instructions to manage an instruction queue. The instruction queue includes indications of second instructions to be executed at a component server. The processor circuitry is to add a first indication of a corresponding one of the second instructions to the instruction queue. The first indication is to identify: (1) a location of the second instruction and (2) a format of the second instruction. In response to a second indication that the second instruction has been executed, the processor circuitry is to remove the first indication from the instruction queue.

Distribution and execution of instructions in a distributed computing environment

Methods and apparatus for distribution and execution of instructions in a distributed computing environment are disclosed. An example method includes accessing, by executing an instruction with a processor implementing a management agent within a deployment environment, an indication of an instruction to be executed, the indication of the instruction to be executed provided by a management endpoint operated at a virtual appliance within the deployment environment. The instruction is retrieved from a repository. The repository is identified by the indication of the instruction to be executed. An instruction executor is directed to execute the instruction. The instruction is to cause the instruction executor to install an update to the management agent.

A conveyor belt assembled of modular plastic components is retained together without the usual connecting rods or pins. In one embodiment the modules, each of which has series of finger-like projections or knuckles both at forward and rear ends of the module, the projections are tapered to narrows in width from top to bottom. The projections at either the forward or rear side have laterally extending posts or dowels at one side of each projection, each with a length that extends through only part of the width of the gap between adjacent projections. In the opposite set of projections are holes, similar to the aligned holes that are present when module rows are connected by rods. With the projections being tapered, modules of adjacent rows can be put together by interdigiting the projections with the modules of adjacent rows held at an angle, preferably an acute angle beyond 90&#xb0;. When the modules are brought back toward alignment to a common plane, the pivot posts of one module become locked in the holes of the module of the adjacent row.

A conveyor chain for poultry processing is formed of injection molded regular links in serially connected relationship, and has at intervals a special link adapted to receive a threaded stud for a chicken carcass-supporting cone or other structure. The special link has a base portion which is of preferably the same configuration as the regular links. Above this, integrally molded with the base portion, is a platform with laterally outwardly extending flanges for stability against tilting. A threaded boss extends up from the platform and has a threaded internal bore extending vertically, to receive a threaded stud. The threaded boss comprises a relatively light plastic cylinder and has regularly extending buttresses stabilizing it on the platform. The special link is integrally formed by injection molding of a suitable material such as acetal, and is light in weight and profile.

A modular plastic conveyor belt achieves a very tight turning radius. The belt is configured to permit the belt module rows to collapse using an over/under slotted module geometry, allowing for modules of one row to slip over/under modules of an adjacent row at the inside of a curve. This allows greater collapse and thus much tighter turning radii. A belt of two inch pitch can achieve an approximately 0.33 turning ratio, the ratio between turn center distance and width of belt.

A helical or &ldquo;spiral&rdquo; conveyor belt system is retrofitted with further belt supports, added between existing belt supports, when needed for heavier loading, preferably without removing the belt from the spiral support structure. The additional support apparatus includes a series of snap-on plastic brackets, to be snapped over the cantilevered bars that extend horizontally inwardly at intervals to support the belt. These brackets form channels within which a set of metal rail members are held, the rail members being in sections securable together around the helical path. A U-shaped wear strip, preferably continuous, is placed down over the metal rails after assembly. This rail addition can be accomplished without removal of the belt, which can be lifted in place sufficiently to assemble the intermediate support components.
