A portable vehicle barrier for preventing the passage of unauthorized or dangerous vehicles into a protected area. The portable vehicle barrier generally includes a horizontal main beam and a plurality of spar assemblies, comprising spars radially spaced apart from each other. The spar assemblies are also spaced apart from each other along the main beam between the ends of the main beam. Accordingly, a number of spars will engage the ground or a road surface at an angle, and a number of opposite spars will be angled to engage an approaching vehicle, so as to penetrate the vehicle if it does not stop at the barrier.

Portable vehicle barrier

An apparatus for sharpening blades, such as those used for mowing. A rotary grinder is mounted within an extensible, retractable, and rotatable support assembly. Lockable, rotational adjustment of the position of the grinder about three axes, and translational movement along one axis is thereby provided. A spring attached to one end of the assembly counter-balances the weight of the grinder. An adjacent blade holding fixture maintains the workpiece at a predetermined angle for grinding. A toggle clamp, edge alignment keepers, and a registration pin secure the blade in place. An adapter fixture, including a toggle clamp and an alignment recess, attaches to one end of the blade holding fixture. The adapter fixture has an angled shelf to orient and secure smaller, contoured blades requiring a different edge grinding angle. Once the support assembly is adjustably secured, the grinder is moved along the cutting edge of the blade for sharpening.

Apparatus for sharpening blades

A bucket mounting system for efficiently attaching and removing a bucket attachment to a variety of different vehicles. The bucket mounting system generally includes a bucket configured with a pair of mounting bars extending parallel with respect to each other across the rear surface of the bucket. A pair of mounting brackets are provided which may be secured to the mounting bars via use of a pair of U-shaped locking members. Thus, the mounting brackets may be removably secured in a variety of positions on the rear face of the bucket to allow its mounting on a wide range of different vehicles such as loaders.

Bucket mounting system

A container puncturing device for efficiently and safely emptying the contents of a container into a storage tank or other structure. The container puncturing device generally includes a cross bar having a pair of tank attachment assemblies, a pair of bucket attachment assemblies and a puncturing member secured thereto. The bucket attachment assemblies are adapted to allow the present invention to be lifted and moved by a loader bucket such as one attached to a skid steer loader. The tank attachment assemblies are utilized to secure the present invention to the upper end of a tank. When a container is lowered onto the puncturing member, any particulate materials stored therein will be dispensed into the tank through the punctured opening. The present invention may then be lifted off and away from the tank through use of the bucket attachment assemblies and a loader bucket.

Container puncturing device

A skid steer attachment system for efficiently increasing the functionality of a skid steer loader. The skid steer attachment system generally includes an attachment assembly to mechanically attach to a skid steer loader, a support frame mechanically attached to the attachment assembly, wherein the support frame is comprised of a U-shaped structure and at least one wheel rotatably attached to the support frame opposite the attachment assembly and wherein the wheel is positionable upon an opposing side of the skid steer loader as the attachment assembly.

A loader has lift arms that are used for mounting a number of different attachments. The attachments can be mounted to the rear of the forward end of the lift arms in order to move the center of gravity of the attachment more directly over the loader frame. Various types of attachments can be used, as shown, and can be controlled to be pivoted for dumping or loading, and can be raised and lowered on the lift arms.

A pretensioned spring track tensioning system provides a two stage loading of a tension roller on the interior of a vehicle drive track. The two stage loading first loads the track under a lower tension load for normal operation, but when the track is highly loaded, such as when digging, or when debris is forced between the track member and its drive sprocket or guide rollers, the compression of the lighter spring will be stopped mechanically and a second heavier compression spring will provide the tension loading. The additional spring tension under unusual conditions prevents detracking of the track and buckling of the track. A lighter tension load during normal operations reduces the loads on bearings, particularly in relation to a drive motor. The tensioning system has particular adaptability to 'high' drive type tracks which have a drive sprocket elevated above the tension roller.

Small loader

A small or mini loader is operated by a platform standing on the ground or other surface supporting the loader, and at the rear of the machine. Hydraulic control levers operate drives on opposite sides of the machine, and the control levers are pulled rearwardly from a stopped position to effect the rearward drive. A pivoting panel is mounted on the rear of the frame and has a wall portion that protrudes outwardly from the rear of the machine. When the lower end of the pivoting panel engages an obstruction or other item that provides a force tending to move the lower end of the panel forwardly relative to the frame, an actuator arm will move to cause control levers that are in a rearward drive position to be moved to the stopped position.

A small loader has a central body that is formed as a unitary frame that has spaced apart side walls. The body is supported on drive and support units that are independently assembled, and have mounting plates that bolt to the exterior of the respective side walls of the body when the loader is to be assembled. The mounting plates support a framework for mounting spaced rotatable members, as shown members that mount a drive track for propelling and supporting the body. In one form a separate track drive sprocket is positioned above a slidably mounted track idler that creates a tension in the drive track.

A walk behind powered apparatus for operating working attachments includes a ground engaging carriage with two endless tracks on opposite sides of the frame. A support frame attached to the carriage includes a pair of rearwardly and upwardly extending side plate members with upper end portions that pivotably support a boom and a controller. The boom is arcuately-shaped and has a working attachment at a forward end. The controller includes linkages which are connected to two drive units which enable independent operation of each endless track. The apparatus also includes at least one selectively positionable counterweight that may be moved relative to the vertical traverse plane passing through the center of gravity of the apparatus to increase the operational parameters of the apparatus.

A lift arm assembly for a small or &ldquo;mini&rdquo; loader is pivotally mounted onto a self propelled frame for movement between a raised and a lowered position. In the raised position, a support strut is provided that fits over an extended rod of the lift arm operating cylinder and will prevent the lift arm assembly from lowering. The support strut is stored in a front tubular cross member of the lift arm assembly. Additionally, the front cross member supports an upright strut that acts as a back stop for material in a bucket, by projecting upwardly beyond the bucket top so that if an object in the bucket tends to roll rearwardly, if the bucket is not leveled, it will be intercepted by the upwardly projecting portion of the back stop and deflected laterally.

Lift arm support and storage construction for small loader

A small loader has a frame, and drive tracks on opposite sides of the frame. The, drive tracks are mounted over drive sprockets and idler wheels to establish lengths of track at upper sides. The frame includes upright members at a rear portion for mounting a lift arm assembly made of two lift arms joined together. Each lift arm has a rear portion pivotally mounted on the upright portion of the frame and extending downwardly and forwardly to join side portions of the lift arms that are substantially parallel to the upper lengths of the respective tracks in a lowered position of the lift arm assembly. Actuators for pivoting the lift arm assembly are mounted on the frame, below the side portions and above the tracks, and extend generally parallel to both the side portions and the upper length of the tracks when the lift arm assembly is in a lowered position.

Low profile lift arm for small skid steer loader

A small self-propelled loader has hydraulic drive motors and at least one work cylinder, and has a hydraulic system that efficiently utilizes the available horse power from an internal combustion engine on the loader. The engine drives a tandem pump and the flows from two sections of the tandem pump pass through a first diverter valve that permits using the flow from each of the pump sections to drive a respective one of the drive motors. The return or drain flow from valves controlling the drive motors is connected to a second diverter valve to selectively direct the drain flow from the drive motors for operating remote work cylinders. Alternately, the first diverter valve directs the output from one pump section to the work cylinders, so that when the loader is standing still or moving very slowly, the work cylinder has adequate flow, and flow from the other pump section is split to power the drive motors. The motors and work cylinders are connected to separate relief valves so that a higher working pressure is available for the drive motors.
