Disclosed is a vehicle-mounted lift system for use with a container that includes a frame, a carriage coupled to the frame which can move longitudinally along the frame, a first support attached to and extending above the carriage, an arm rotatably attached to the first support at an arm pivot point, a lifting hook attached to the arm that can engage a lifting hook on the container, and an actuator that can rotate the arm angularly about the pivot point to move the position of the lifting hook.

Vehicle hook hoist

A dumping vehicle with a dump bed for holding and dumping material is disclosed. Embodiments include a coupler for coupling the dump bed with a tractor and a linkage connecting the dump bed and coupler, the linkage maintaining the orientation of the coupler steady during dumping. Embodiments include a linkage, dump bed and coupler forming a quadrilateral that deforms during dumping. The linkage can include two arms of different lengths, each pivotally connected to the dump bed and the coupler. In alternate embodiments, the dump bed and a rear support connect at a physical pivot location and the dump bed rotates about a location that is different from the physical pivot location and can rotate about a location that moves. The hinge assembly can include two hinge arms of different lengths that move the dump bed sill rearward and upward as the forward end of the dump bed is raised.

Dumping vehicle

An improved dump trailer hinge design for use in asphalt paving applications is disclosed. The hinge system may be used on dump or straight trailers having half or full trailer frames. The trailer dump bed is hingeably mounted to the trailer frame by hinge arms having a length greater than the vertical distance between the hinge and the trailer bed. A mud flap mounting bracket suitable for use with the hinge system is also disclosed.

Dump trailer for asphalt paving

A retarder device for applying gradually increasing braking force to a moving object such as a pallet rolling on a gravitationally actuated conveyor system. The device produces a three-stage application of braking force to the moving object as the object moves along its predetermined path and rolls over a brake wheel that actuates a gear train. The gear train comprises a plurality of intermeshed gears that progressively increases the angular velocity of the rotating gears as the first gear in the train is rotated. A fly wheel carrying at least one pivotally mounted fly weight, and preferably a plurality of weights equally spaced around the wheel, is fixedly secured to the terminal gear of the train. The inertia of the various members of the gear train, the fly wheel, and the fly weights applies the first stage braking force to the moving object. The fly weights pivot outward due to centrifugal forces developed from rotation of the fly wheel, and press against a nearby friction member to develop a frictional contact. The resulting frictional force constitutes the second stage braking force. A still larger braking force is applied during a third stage in which the further pivoting of the fly weights pushes against the adjacent friction member with sufficient force that the fly wheel itself is pressed in the opposite direction against at least one reaction snubber mounted on the support means adjacent the other side of the fly wheel. To produce the larger thirdstage braking force, the reaction snubber or snubbers and the fly wheel have a higher coefficient of friction than the fly wheel and the aforementioned friction member.

Retarder device for moving objects

A storage rack with spaced tolerance control tabs which effectively minimize down-aisle space buildup. The control tabs are positioned along the length of the storage rack and extend from the angles of the beam assemblies. The control tabs of adjacent angles are positioned adjacent each other at generally the same vertical level, and may be in contact with each other, near the outer surface of the post. In the preferred form, each control tab is located generally midway along the upright edge of the angle from which it extends, is generally rectangular in shape, and has a length about 1/10 the length of the upright edge of the angle.

Storage racks with spacer tabs

A load spacing mechanism for a load conveyor in which an actuating member is mounted on the conveyor and pivotable between an extended position and a retracted position. The actuating member is connected by linkage to a support mechanism which in one position thereof supports a stop mechanism in the raised position, thereby to stop a load on the conveyor from advancing toward the actuating mechanism. When a load is lifted from the actuating member, the linkage operates, as the actuating member moves to the extended position thereof, to move the stop support away from the stop thereby permitting the load at the stop mechanism to force the stop mechanism downwardly and pass thereover toward the actuating mechanism. All of the actuating mechanism, the stop mechanism and the support mechanism are pivotly mounted to the conveyor thereby obviating the need for toggle mechanism and enabling the foregoing load spacing mechanism to operate with either heavy or light loads without adjusting the mechanism.
