A paint spray booth is provided which comprises a floor covered with flowing liquid, the floor including an elongated passageway formed therein defined by a pair of passageway walls and having an entrance opening and an exit opening. The paint spray booth further comprises a mechanism for exhausting air from the booth and pulling a stream of paint particle laden air downwardly through the openings. The booth further comprises a first longitudinally extending concave plate positioned to receive the mixed stream of water and air exiting from the exit opening, and a second longitudinally extending concave plate laterally spaced from the first concave plate. The first and second concave plates cooperate to define a flow chamber therebetween and a discharge opening. The first and second plates are designed to minimize paint buildup in the flow chamber and to trap the noise generated at the discharge opening to reduce the amount of noise returning through the passageway.

Paint spray booth

An apparatus and method is provided for regulating the climate in a spray booth. The spray booth comprises a chamber for housing articles during spray application of a coating material to the articles and an air circulation system for supplying either ambient air or recirculation air to the chamber. The chamber has an outlet for exhausting a contaminated mixture of chamber air and coating material overspray from the chamber. The spray booth further includes a liquid filter for washing the contaminated mixture exhausted through the chamber outlet to wash the coating material overspray out of the mixture. The air circulation system of the improved spray booth includes a system for controlling the temperature of the air supplied to the chamber to regulate the relative humidity of the air in the chamber. The method comprises the steps of exhausting contaminated air consisting essentially of spray booth air and coating material overspray from the spray booth, exposing the exhausted air to liquid to decontaminate the exhausted air for recirculation to the spray booth, lowering the relative humidity of the decontaminated air, and subsequently introducing the decontaminated recirculation air into the spray booth without introducing a large volume of additional outside air so as to regulate the climate in the spray booth.

Spray booth with climate regulation system

A spray-finishing system including a tunnel through which objects to be finished longitudinally move and a chamber under the tunnel and in communication with the tunnel through the grill-type floor. The chamber is exhausted by conventional exhaust fan techniques. The improvement comprises a longitudinally extending divider dividing the chamber into lateral subchambers from which the air is exhausted. The divider provides, for each subchamber, a longitudinally and downwardly extending wall surface terminating at its lower extremity into a laterally relatively narrow trough which is relatively steeply inclined longitudinally downwardly. In each subchamber, a longitudinally extending, inwardly and downwardly sloping panel is provided having a distal edge spaced apart from the wall surface to provide a longitudinally extending, laterally narrow slot through which the air drawn from the subchamber moves. A film of washing liquid flows down the wall surfaces respectively to the troughs and down the panels respectively toward the wall surfaces. The troughs, being steeply inclined, flow the washing liquid longitudinally along the subchambers at a relatively high speed.

Spray finishing tunnel

A fan silencer having an external shell of annular cross section and a cylindrical central core mounted on a rigid frame. The external shell and the inner core each contain noise absorbing insulation, and have easily removable wall sections to allow fast and easy replacement of said insulation and cleaning of said wall sections.
