A gas can lifting assembly for lifting and tilting a gas can includes a cart that may be rolled along the support surface. A lift is coupled to the cart and the lift is selectively manipulated. A basket is pivotally coupled to the lift such that the lift selectively lifts and lowers the basket. A gas can is selectively positioned in the basket. In this way the gas can may be selectively lifted and lowered for refueling a machine. The basket is selectively positioned in a first position having the basket being horizontally oriented. Additionally, the basket is selectively positioned in a second position having the basket being tilted to pour gasoline from the gas can.

Correctly formulated enterically coated nutrient pellets are able to significantly to lower the blood sugar level of type two diabetics when administered with a normal meal. The inventive composition is effective at dosage levels of 10 g or less. Effective doses of the composition contribute 42 kcal or fewer to the patient's diet. A preferred form of the composition contains lauric acid coated for release in the distal bowel. When taken with an ordinary meal, the effective dosage does not induce the ileal brake and is more than 50 times (often more than 100 times) as effective on per kilocalorie basis as an ordinary meal at eliciting increases in PYY and GLP-1. Thus, ordinary nutrients&#x2014;as opposed to drugs&#x2014;can be used to reduce blood sugar levels when administered at dosage levels that are not significant promoters of weight gain.

A composition and method for the control of appetite having food grade nutrients as the active ingredients, and a pharmaceutically acceptable delivery agent, formulated so that the active ingredient is released predominantly in the ileum. The active ingredient may include sugars, fatty acids, polypeptides, and amino acids. The delivery agent may be a pH sensitive coating, a cellulosic polymer coating or a diazotized polymer. The composition may be formulated into pellets of between 1 and 3 mm with a density of around 1.0. The composition may be administered with a liquid as a slurry, or it may be administered in a tablet form. The composition may be used in conjunction with any weight loss or weight maintenance program.

Composition and method for inducing satiety

A dosage system for administering drugs and conducting gastric flow studies is configured in the form of a multiplicity of substantially spherical subunits which have advantageously preselected particle diameter and density to customize the flow rate of the subunits with respect to the rate of flow of at least certain portions of the chyme. The diameter and density are related to one another in accordance with a relationship: ##EQU1## where N.sub.V is a dimensionless group having a predetermined value representing gastric residence time, g is the gravitational constant, .DELTA.p is the difference in density between the subunits and the chyme, and &lt;v&gt; is the linear velocity of the chyme. The flow rate of the subunits can be made slower, faster, or substantially equal to that of the chyme, as required to treat certain disease states. Also, the subunits can be provided with an enteric coating which permits more precise administration of certain drugs, such as those used in enzyme supplementation therapy. This is particularly useful in treating patients with abnormal duodenal pH levels, such as are encountered in victims of cystic fibrosis and other forms of pancreatic insufficiency.
