Modular target stand

A coring tool including a coring bit operable to obtain a core sample of a subterranean formation from a sidewall of a wellbore extending into the subterranean formation. The coring tool also includes a storage tube, an actuator operable to move the core from the coring bit into the storage tube, and a sensor operable to generate information related to presence of the core within the storage tube.

Sidewall core detection

A coring tool having a coring mechanism for cutting cores from a borehole sidewall. The coring mechanism comprises a motor having a coring bit to cut 1.5 inch diameter, 2.5 inch long cores. Support plates fixed to the housing comprise guide slots having a longer leg and a shorter leg. Leading pins and follower pins extend from the motor into the guide slots. When the leading and follower pins are driven along the guide slots, the motor is rotated and then pushed into the formation. Drive plates positioned between the housing and the support plates comprise slots and pivot about a pin. The leading pins further extend into the drive plate slots. A hydraulic cylinder pivots the drive plates, pushing the pins along the guide slots to rotate the motor to a radial position and then urge the motor towards the formation.

Large core sidewall coring

A system and method for controlling the flow of fish. The system includes a vessel containing water and having an exit aperture. The system also includes a sensor configured to sense a first fish moving through the exit aperture. In addition, the system includes a jet device in communication with the sensor. The jet device is positioned adjacent to the exit aperture and is configured to spray a jet to prevent a second fish from moving through the exit aperture. In one embodiment, the system also includes a gate positioned at the exit aperture, the gate being normally closed and configured to be pushed open by a fish moving through the exit aperture. The system may be employed for providing spacing between fish or may be employed to provide a single fish on demand.

System and method for controlling fish flow with jet device

A patient transfer stand is provided for assisting a wheelchair-bound person to transfer to and from a wheelchair to a variety of other points in a simple fashion. The transfer stand includes a rotating base. The base includes 2 substantially rectangular cut out portions that accommodates the wheels of the wheelchair. The base supports a pair of vertical support bars, in addition to an elevated handle structure that the wheelchair-bound person can hold onto during transfer. The elevated handle structures include elastic straps which may be used to assist the wheelchair-bound person from the wheelchair into the patient transfer stand. A patient, if required, may utilize the elastic straps attached to a belt or harness worn about the waist to assist them in assuming a standing position inside the transfer stand. Through the utilization of developed leverage, the patient may assume a raised or semi-standing position in the transfer stand without assistance. The patient may also use hand holds or handles while they are assuming the standing position. Once the patient has assumed the upright position on the transfer stand, the stand is rotated and the person may sit or recline on the desired object--such as the bed or commode. A means to secure the person inside the transfer stand during transfer may also be provided.
