A selector valve assembly for use in conjunction with an eductor dispensing system which reduces the incidence of product carry-over when the valve is moved from one position to another. The selector valve assembly also reduces the incidence of improper dispensing. In a preferred manner, the selector valve assembly has a single valve member and accommodates four product inlet lines for selectively passing chemical concentrate to two eductors. The selector valve assembly is composed of a minimum of ports, thereby reducing maintenance and cost.

Two eductor / four-way selector valve assembly

A method of controlling the flow of different flow paths of fluid is provided. The method includes rotating a valve to a first position, receiving a first concentrate in the first position, discharging the first concentrate through one of two outlets, rotating the valve to a second position, receiving a second concentrate in the second position, and discharging the second concentrate through one of the two outlets.

Two educator/four-way selector valve assembly

A selector valve assembly controlling the flow of different flow paths of fluid. The assembly includes a body member having a compartment with an end wall, an outlet passage in the end wall, two ports connected to the body member and communicating with the outlet passage in the end wall, and two passages communicating with the compartment. A rotatable member is sealable positioned in the compartment and has a side wall and an end wall. A first passageway extends a distance into the rotatable member from the end wall thereof and a second passageway extends through the side wall thereof and communicates with the first passageway. Rotation of the rotatable member selectively orients the second passageway with each of the two passages to cause liquid in the two passages to pass to the first and second passageways and subsequently to the outlet passage and at least one of the ports.

An eductor for mixing two liquids wherein the eductor includes a closed or non-air gap back flow prevention member. The vacuum profile of the eductor is altered by changing an opening in a passage portion to controllably divert water flow around the venturi tube or diverting the water without the opening. This affords the changing of the vacuum profile without redesigning the entire eductor.

Two eductor/four-way selector valve assembly

A mixing and dispensing apparatus wherein a liquid concentrate is metered into a diluent stream of an eductor in a precise manner. A needle valve is employed in conjunction with a cam member and the cam member includes slopes of varying degrees. In this manner, a wide range of dilution rates can be accomplished with only a single revolution of the needle valve. The apparatus is particularly useful in mixing and dispensing chemical concentrates such as cleaning and sanitizing materials.

Variable rate dispensing apparatus

A magnetically operable mixing and dispensing apparatus which is operable with one hand. A bottle contact portion is provided on a magnetic activating member which activates a moveable element of the valve. The apparatus eliminates frictional contact with the valve thus resulting in longer life. The apparatus is easily retrofitted.

Liquid mixing and dispensing apparatus

Liquid mixing and dispensing apparatus which can dispense a high and a low flow rate by means of a flow control valve. The apparatus includes a multiplicity of containers with liquid concentrate which are interconnected with eductors so that when pressurized water flows through the eductors and by activation of a selected valve liquid concentrate is mixed with the water so as to dilute it for use. A flow control valve is positioned upstream of the selector valves and has a high and a low flow rate capacity. The high and low flow capacity is accomplished by metering devices placed in a ball of the valve or the valve housing.

High flow/low flow mixing and dispensing apparatus

A portable sprayer device which affords protection for the liquid concentrate container. A versatile spraying capability is also provided as well as an apparatus producing a vacuum function, an air gap and a spill-proof bottle feature. The sprayer device is particularly suited for dispensing cleaning, germicidal, sanitizing, insecticidal, deodorant materials and any other similar chemical concentrate.

Portable spraying device

A multistation liquid mixing and dispensing apparatus which substantially reduces the risk of dispensing the wrong product. A color-coded system is employed which color-coordinates the container with a chemical concentrate to the components of the mixing and dispensing apparatus. An eductor is employed to mix the chemical concentrate with a diluting liquid. The mixing and dispensing apparatus is particularly suited for mixing and dispensing cleaning products used in maintaining large institutional buildings, such as stores and offices.

A venturi tube (,) is in the eductor (,) and has an annular sharp edge (,) in the main stream (,), thereby dividing such stream (,) into a primary stream (,) and a secondary stream (,) around the primary stream (,). The eductor (,) has an air gap (,) and a flow guide (,) downstream thereof. In a specific embodiment, the flow guide (,) is annular around the venturi tube (,) and the tube (,) and the guide (,) are in spaced telescoped relationship. Several embodiments of the eductor (,) and a new method for mixing liquids are disclosed.

Disclosed is a non-educting device (10) for preventing back flow of contaminated water into a potable water system. The device (10) includes first and second nozzles (33, 35) in series flow relationship to one another, an air gap (49) between the first and second nozzles (33, 35) and a water inlet (27). In the improvement, the inlet (27) is the sole liquid inlet of the device (10) and the first nozzle (33) is between the air gap (49) and the inlet (27). Such nozzle (33) includes a tapered portion having an axial length (AL) and a circular discharge opening (59). The ratio of the axial length (AL) to the diameter of the opening (59) is in the range of 0.7 to 1.1. Other features involve a unique containment bowl (21) and a secondary air gap (19) in liquid flow relationship to the containment bowl (21).

Non-educting back flow prevention device

Disclosed is an improved mixing eductor (10) of the type wherein the primary liquid (17), e.g., water, is in a main stream (201) flowing in a downstream direction. A venturi tube (51) is in the eductor (10) and has an annular sharp edge (131) in the main stream (201), thereby dividing such stream (201) into a primary stream (179) and a secondary stream (181) around the primary stream (179). The eductor (10) has an air gap (103) and a flow guide (47) downstream thereof. In a specific embodiment, the flow guide (47) is annular around the venturi tube (51) and the tube (51) and the guide (47) are in spaced telescoped relationship. Several embodiments of the eductor (10) and a new method for mixing liquids are disclosed.

Disclosed is an improved device (10) for preventing back flow of possibly-contaminated water into a potable water system. The device (10) includes first, second and third nozzles (33, 35, 37) in series flow relationship, and an air gap (49) between the first and second nozzles (33, 35). In the improvement, the air gap (49) is a primary air gap and the device (10) includes a secondary air gap (19) fixed with respect to the second nozzle (35). In a more specific aspect of the new device (10), the second and third nozzles (35, 37) are in a tubular housing (41) and the device (10) includes a containment bowl (21) around the housing (41). The secondary air gap (19) includes an aperture (53) in the housing wall (55) and such aperture (53) opens to the containment bowl (21). Other aspects of the new device (10 involve particular nozzle configurations and relationships and a restrictor (103) inhibiting back flow.
