A floor assembly for a trailer includes a pair of longitudinally extending main beams, each having a first height dimension along a first longitudinal portion of the main beam and a second height dimension along a second portion of the main beam. The first height dimension being greater than the second height dimension. Cross members extend in a transverse direction between and connect the main beams. A plurality of floor members extend transversely between the main beams. The floor members including at least some reinforced floor members. The reinforced floor members have upper and lower walls and opposing side walls that define a rectangular cross-section and include a series of truss walls extending angularly between the upper and lower walls. The reinforced floor members are positioned on the upper surfaces of the main beams at least in part at the second height dimension.

Reinforced trailer chassis and floor

A floor assembly for a trailer includes stringers that extend in a transverse direction of the assembly and are spaced from one another in a longitudinal direction of the assembly. The stringers are made of a thermally insulative first material. A bottom flange is coupled to a lower portion of a respective stringer. A top flange made of a second material is coupled to an upper portion of a respective stringer. Floor panels are also provided. Each floor panel extends in the longitudinal direction, is supported by the top flange, is coupled to another floor panel along respective edges thereof, and has at least one rib that extends in the longitudinal direction and depends substantially perpendicularly from a bottom surface thereof. Each floor panel is made of the second material and each at least one rib is welded to a top surface of the top flange.

Floor assembly for transportable refrigerated container

A system for transporting cargo includes a cargo deck and a dunnage device for securing a load to the cargo deck. The dunnage device includes an elongated tubular body having an interior space. A transverse wall is positioned within the interior space of the tubular body. The elongated tubular body is adapted to be positioned on the cargo deck.

Cargo dunnage device

A floor assembly includes a plurality of transverse stringers spaced from one another in the longitudinal direction of the floor assembly. The assembly also includes a plurality of transverse bottom flanges, each transverse bottom flange being coupled to a lower portion of a respective transverse stringer and to a neighboring transverse bottom flange along respective transversely extending side edges thereof. A top flange comprising a supporting sheet is coupled to an upper portion of each transverse stringer. A plurality of longitudinal panels are supported by the supporting sheet and coupled to one another along respective longitudinally extending edges thereof to form a floor surface, each longitudinal panel in the plurality of longitudinal panels having at least one longitudinally extending rib depending substantially perpendicularly from a bottom surface thereof. The at least one rib is coupled to a top surface of the supporting sheet.

A dunnage device for securing a load to a cargo deck includes an elongated tubular body having an interior space. A transverse wall is positioned within the interior space of the tubular body. The elongated tubular body is adapted to be positioned on the cargo deck.

A fifth wheel includes a top plate having a throat that is adapted to receive a kingpin of a trailer. The fifth wheel is equipped with a locking mechanism including a jaw slidably connected to the top plate and slidable between a closed position where the jaw blocks passage of a kingpin out of the throat of the fifth wheel and an open position where a kingpin may pass into and out of the throat of the fifth wheel. The jaw has an edge adapted to engage a kingpin positioned in the throat of the fifth wheel when the jaw is in the closed position. A bias device urges the jaw towards the closed position. The fifth wheel further includes a mechanism for moving the jaw between the open and closed positions. Further, the top plate of the fifth wheel is configured to allow service and/or replacement of the jaw from the top of the fifth wheel while it is assembled to a vehicle.

Fifth wheel locking mechanism

A collapsible intermodal flat rack features a cargo deck with first and second arches pivotally mounted to the cargo deck. Each arch is provided with a crank mechanism including a gearbox having an input shaft and an output shaft. The output shaft is attached to the corresponding arch so that the arch may be moved between a storage position, where a top portion of the arch is located adjacent to the cargo deck, and a use position, where the top portion of the arch is elevated from the cargo deck, by actuation of the input shaft.

Collapsible intermodal flat rack

A cargo deck includes a floor engageable with a load. The floor is formed from extruded aluminum in tubular panels extending transversely along the floor. Side rails are disposed on opposed sides of the deck. A plurality of longitudinally-extending support members support the floor, and are coupled to the floor via a plurality of support brackets extending angularly from the floor to the support members.

Cargo deck

A restraining strap securement system for a trailer includes a load-restraining strap with a flat hook that connects to the trailer side rail. The trailer side rail extends along the sides of the trailer and comprises a bottom wall with an opening for receiving the flat hook. A keeper slides upon a rail affixed to the bottom wall and the keeper may be positioned to extend beneath the flat hook and prevent the flat from falling from the opening while the strap is being tightened. The keeper may comprise a hook that can be used to secure tarps or ropes over the trailer load.

Restraining strap securement system

A bumper adapted for mounting to a trailer is provided. The bumper comprises a tail skirt extending horizontally across the rear of the trailer. Upright bars mount to and intersect the tail skirt. The tail skirt comprises a groove for receiving a recessed light bar comprising multiple signal lights. The wiring harness extends from the light bar into a space behind the upright bars and passes through openings in the tail skirt behind the upright bars.

Light bar and bumper

An improved side rail structure is used to form a portion of a flat bed trailer. The side rail structure is integrally formed as one piece. The side rail structure includes an outer side rail wall which is integrally formed as one piece with a rub rail that projects from the outward surface of the side rail wall.

Trailer side rail

A restraining strap securement system for a trailer includes a load-restraining strap with a flat hook that connects to the trailer side rail. The trailer side rail extends along the sides of the trailer and comprises a bottom wall with an opening for receiving the flat hook. A keeper slides upon a rail affixed to the bottom wall and the keeper may be positioned to extend beneath the flat hook and prevent the flat hook from falling from the opening while the strap is being tightened. The keeper may comprise a hook that can be used to secure tarps or ropes over the trailer load.

A trailer includes a floor engageable with a load, the trailer floor comprising a plurality of floor panels. Each floor panel comprises a plurality of tubular portions that are hollow inside to reduce weight. The tubular portions have an upper wall comprising pairs of parallel channels which slideably receive at least one sliding bracket for securing the load to the trailer.

Trailer load securement system

An improved side rail structure is used to form a portion of a flat bed trailer. The side rail structure is integrally formed as one piece. The side rail structure includes an outer side rail wall which is integrally formed as one piece with a rub rail. A flooring section may also be formed as one piece with the outer side rail wall. The one piece side rail structure may be formed of extruded metal.

A trailer includes a floor engageable with a load and a longitudinally extending support member. The support member has an upper portion connected to the floor, a lower portion connectable to a suspension system, and a web extending between the upper and lower portions and transverse to the floor. The lower portion has a lower flange extending transverse to the web and connectable to the suspension system. The lower flange has a first portion extending from a first side of the web a first distance and a second portion extending from a second opposite side of the web a second distance larger than the first distance.
