A hurricane-resistant laminated pane comprises a first sheet of thermally strengthened glass having a thickness in the range of from 2 to 24 mm, a second sheet of untempered glass having a thickness in the range of from 0.3 to 1 mm, and a polymer interlayer adhered between the first sheet and the second sheet. A process for making such a pane and a window comprising such a pane are also disclosed.

Various embodiments of the disclosure are directed towards fenestration assemblies having a first pane; a second pane, the second pane spaced from the first pane; and a third pane configured in spaced relation between the first pane and the second pane, where the third pane is a laminate. In one aspect, the total thickness of the third pane laminate is not greater than 3 mm. In one aspect, the laminate comprises a first glass layer not greater than 1 mm thick and a second glass layer not greater than 1 mm thick, and an interlayer between first and second layers.

Various embodiments for a laminate glass article and related methods are provided. The laminated glass article includes a first and second glass layers with an interlayer positioned therebetween, comprising: a polymer core layer comprising a high modulus polymer (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonate, polyacrylate, and polyimide); a first low modulus material layer (e.g. first TPU or first PVB or first EVA) configured between the first layer and the polymer core layer; and a second low modulus material layer (e.g. second TPU or second PVB or second EVA) configured between the second layer and the polymer core layer.

Embodiments of a composite structure are provided, the composite structure including: a substrate layer, a conductive layer and an overlayer. The conductive layer is disposed between the overlayer and the substrate layer. A window pane includes a transmission control layer including a first glass sheet, a second glass sheet, and a liquid crystal material disposed between the first glass sheet and the second glass sheet. Dynamically adjustable display systems for adjusting the position of a flexible display in response to ambient light. The display system includes a flexible display that is capable of reversibly bending along one or more bending axes. The display system further includes an adjustable support on which the flexible display is mounted, the adjustable support being able to selectively bend the flexible display. The display system includes photodetectors for detecting ambient light. The photodetectors may be positioned about a perimeter of the flexible display. A control unit in communication with the adjustable support and the plurality of photodetectors may cause the adjustable support to bend the flexible display in response to ambient light detected at the plurality of photodetectors.

An insulated glass unit is described and includes at least a first glass layer, a second glass layer and a third glass layer disposed therebetween. The third glass layer is separated from the first glass layer and the second glass layer by first and second sealed gap spaces. In some instances, the third glass layer has a CTE of less than 70&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. over a temperature range of 0-300&#xb0; C.

Exemplary glass sheet can comprise between about 69-80 mol. % SiO, between about 6-12 mol. % AlO, between about 2-10 mol. % BO, between about 0-5 mol. % ZrO, LiO, MgO, ZnO and PO, between about 6-15 mol. % NaO, between about 0-3 mol. % KO and CaO, and between about 0-2 mol. % SnOto provide a mechanically robust and environmentally durable structure.
