An example peritoneal dialysis system is disclosed. The example peritoneal dialysis system includes at least one pump and a memory device configured to store therapy prescriptions including a low ultrafiltration ('UF') therapy prescription, a first standard UF therapy prescription with a longer duration and a lower dextrose concentration, and a second standard UF therapy prescription with a shorter duration and a higher dextrose concentration. The memory device also stores a schedule indicative as to which of the therapy prescriptions are to be performed on specified dates. The system further includes a logic implementer configured to determine or identify a current date, use the schedule stored in the memory device to select the therapy prescription based on the current date, and control the at least one pump based on the selected therapy prescription to perform a peritoneal dialysis therapy.

Dialysis system having adaptive prescription management

An example peritoneal dialysis system is disclosed. The example peritoneal dialysis system includes an automated peritoneal dialysis ('APD') machine configured to remove ultrafiltrate ('UF') from a patient and record how much UF has been removed. The APD machine operates according to a prescription to remove the UF. The system also includes a server in communication with the APD machine. The server analyzes the UF data to determine if the prescription is to be modified to compensate for changes to the patient's renal function or renal transport characteristics.

Dialysis system having adaptive prescription generation

An example peritoneal dialysis system is disclosed. The example peritoneal dialysis system includes an automated peritoneal dialysis ('APD') machine comprising a pumping mechanism and a peritoneal dialysis fluid heater. The example peritoneal dialysis system also includes a disposable set comprising a disposable cassette operable with the pumping mechanism and a heater bag operable with the heater. The example peritoneal dialysis system additionally includes a conductivity sensor positioned and arranged to provide feedback to the APD machine. The example APD machine is configured to mix a peritoneal dialysis fluid for treatment in the heater bag using a plurality of peritoneal dialysis constituent fluids. In addition, the example APD machine is configured to use feedback from the conductivity sensor to evaluate the mixed peritoneal dialysis fluid for treatment.

Dialysis system and disposable set

A dialysis method includes: receiving at least one of blood pressure data from a blood pressure monitor or patient weight data from a weight scale at a dialysis machine at least one of (i) before or (ii) after each treatment performed by the dialysis machine; generating ultrafiltration ('UF') removed data over a treatment performed by the dialysis machine; sending the UF removed data and at least one of the blood pressure data or the patient weight data to a server; determining at least one of a UF trend, a blood pressure trend or a patient weight trend from the UF removed data, the blood pressure data or the patient weight data, respectively; and displaying at least one of the UF trend, the blood pressure trend or the patient weight trend so that a therapy adjustment can be made if necessary.

Dialysis method and system including wireless patient data

An example renal therapy system includes a blood pressure monitor configured to output blood pressure data concerning a patient and a renal therapy machine communicatively coupled to the blood pressure monitor. The renal therapy machine is configured to generate ultrafiltration ('UF') removed data from a prescribed renal therapy treatment performed by the renal therapy machine on the patient, and transmit the UF removed data and the blood pressure data via a network. At least one of a UF trend or a blood pressure trend from the UF removed data or the blood pressure data is determined, enabling a further determination as to at least one of (a) whether a prescribed renal therapy treatment adjustment or a new prescribed renal therapy treatment needs to be made, (b) whether the patient is complying with the prescribed renal therapy treatment, or (c) whether a condition related to an alarm or an alert exists.

Renal therapy system including a blood pressure monitor

An example dialysis system includes a dialysis machine and a receiver coded with at least one of an address or a personal identification number ('PIN'). The dialysis machine is configured to perform a prescribed dialysis treatment on a patient, generate ultrafiltration ('UF') removed data over the prescribed dialysis treatment performed by the dialysis machine, and transmit the UF removed data. The example receiver is configured to receive sensor data from a sensor attached to the patient. The at least one coded address or PIN ensures that the sensor data is received by the receiver as opposed to another receiver.

An example dialysis system includes a dialysis machine and a receiver coded with at least one of an address or a personal identification number ('PIN'). A dialysis method comprising coding a wireless receiver of a dialysis machine with at least one of an address or a personal identification number ('PIN'); and receiving at least one of blood pressure data from a blood pressure monitor wirelessly or patient weight data from a weight scale wirelessly, wherein the at least one coded address or PIN ensures that the at least one of the blood pressure data or the patient weight data is received by the receiver as opposed to a receiver of another dialysis machine.

Dialysis method including wireless patient data

A peritoneal dialysis system includes an automated peritoneal dialysis ('APD') machine including a logic implementer and a wireless interface receiver. The system also includes at least one of a scale or a blood pressure monitor including a wireless interface transmitter. The scale or blood pressure monitor is operable to send at least one of patient blood pressure data and patient weight data wirelessly, respectively, to the wireless interface receiver. The logic implementer is configured to store the patient blood pressure data or patient weight data. A server computer is configured to communicate with the logic implementer to receive the stored at least one patient blood pressure data and patient weight data.

Dialysis system including wireless patient data and trending and alert generation

A peritoneal dialysis system includes: an automated peritoneal dialysis ('APD') machine configured to remove ultrafiltrate ('UF') from a patient and record how much UF has been removed; and a logic implementer configured to (i) form a first moving average UF removed trend, (ii) determine a trending range around the first moving average UF removed trend, (iii) determine at least one of an upper and lower UF removed limit from the trending range, (iv) form a second moving average UF removed trend, and (v) alert if the second moving average UF removed trend moves outside of the at least one UF removed limit.
