A disk drive internal temperature control system is disclosed. The internal temperature control system includes a disk drive temperature monitor for determining a temperature of the disk drive and for providing a measure of the temperature of the disk drive and a disk drive temperature manager for managing the temperature of the disk drive based on the measure of the temperature of the disk drive. A temperature control component controls the temperature of the disk drive.

Disk drive internal temperature control system

A high-resolution, patterned-media master mask is disclosed. The high-resolution, patterned-media master mask includes an electron-absorption substrate for absorbing electrons from an electron beam (e-beam) during an e-beam exposure by an e-beam lithography process and suppressing a backscattering of the electrons based on an electron-backscattering-suppressing atomic number associated with a constituent atomic species of the electron-absorption substrate, wherein the electron-absorption substrate comprises a material composed of greater than fifty atomic percent of the constituent atomic species, and wherein the electron backscattering-suppressing atomic number is less than an atomic number eight. The high-resolution, patterned-media master mask further includes a patterned portion coupled with the electron-absorption substrate, wherein the patterned portion is patterned by the e-beam lithography process, and wherein a resolution of the patterned portion is increased in response to the electron-absorption substrate suppressing the backscattering of the electrons.

High-resolution, patterned-media master mask

A raster printer with sufficient flexibility so that text data and image data of any size and orientation can be placed at any position on a page. Input data has a succession of coded character data along with control data which specifies information concerning font selection and the placement of the characters on the page. Control circuits process the input data, one character at a time, and generate for each of the characters, data relating to the position of the character on the page, the size of the character and the address in storage of the graphic pattern for the character. The data is utilized by pattern move control logic to access the graphic pattern in the order the characters are to be printed and move the graphic data to a strip buffer. Data is read out of the strip buffer to energize imaging apparatus to print a page corresponding to the graphic pattern of the character data. An accumulator provides temporary storage for parts of the graphic pattern data and this data is logically ORed with later data so that a page of unlimited complexity can be printed.

Flexible text and image generator for a raster printer

This patent discloses an improved inspection tool for rapidly inspecting miniature electronic conductor patterns, circuits and the like. The tool focuses a laser beam to a small laser spot that raster scans a large conductor pattern area on the workpiece being inspected. Reflected laser light from the workpiece impinges upon a light detector that generates electrical signals according to the presence or absence of conductor pattern material on the workpiece at the momentary X and Y coordinate of the scanning laser spot. The light detector signals are compared with a previously encoded data image of the correct circuit pattern for the X and Y coordinates of the scanning laser spot. When the signals and the data agree at all X and Y coordinate points the workpiece is accepted. If the signals and the data do not agree at one or more X and Y coordinate points a defect in the circuit pattern is indicated. A defect may indicate out-of-tolerance dimensions, possible electrical short circuits, and/or open circuits. The extent of a defect may be determined by adjacent X and Y coordinate points and suitable computer programming, while workpieces having extended or out-of-tolerance defects are rejected. The improved disclosed inspection tool includes apparatus for automatically compensating for variations in the workpieces, and to effect registration for the scanning laser spot.
