Fibers comprising a first thermoplastic composition having a softening temperature up to 120&#xb0; C and a curable resin. Also disclosed are compositions comprising a plurality of fibers, with some of the fibers comprising a first thermoplastic composition having a softening temperature up to 120&#xb0; C and some of the fibers comprising a curable resin. The fibers have an aspect ratio of at least 2:1 and a maximum cross-sectional dimension up to 60 micrometers. Fluid compositions containing the fibers and methods of contacting a subterranean formation using the fibers are also disclosed.

Curable fiber

Compositions comprising a proppant core having an outer surface and polymeric microspheres attached to at least a portion of the outer surface are described. The compositions are useful, for example, to increase the productivity of a hydrocarbon oil or gas bearing well.

Proppants and uses thereof

Fiber aggregate comprising organic polymeric fibers, wherein the organic polymeric fibers have an average length in a range from 2 to 20 millimeters, an average diameter up to 100 micrometer, and comprise at least 75 percent by solid volume of the fiber aggregate, wherein the fiber aggregate has an unrestrained bulk density of at least 0.05 g/cm, and wherein at least 85% by volume of the fiber aggregate disassociates to provide dispersed fibers. The fiber aggregates are useful, for example, for flowback control in wellbores and reservoirs.

Fluid compositions and methods of making and using same are described, one composition comprising a well treatment fluid and an additive combined with the well treatment fluid, wherein the additive is selected from solids, liquids and combinations thereof, the additive having a surface shape, at least one property of the surface shape enabling it to change under influence of a controllable parameter after the composition is deployed into a hydraulic fracture or gravel pack. In methods of the disclosure, the additive exists initially in a first state, and then is changed to a second state. The first state may increase proppant flowback efficiency, while the second state may increase hydraulic conductivity. In certain embodiments, the additive may change back to its first state.

Methods of treating subterranean wells using changeable additives

Low viscosity, radiation curable fluid formulations that can be used advantageously as radiation curable, inks. The formulations are easily prepared for use in ink jet systems. The viscosity of the compositions is low enough so that conventional solvent is not required in order to satisfy the requisite low ink jet viscosity specifications. After curing, the compositions form durable, weatherable, abrasion resistant, printed images on a wide variety of porous and nonporous substrates. The formulations are very suitable for outdoor printing applications, especially for printing outdoor graphics onto a variety of surfaces, including vinyl or other polymer films commonly used for signage, retroreflective signage or other retroreflective items.

In one aspect, the invention provides a water-based release coating composition comprising a mixture of: A. from 0.1 to about 5 wt % of a fluoro(meth)acrylate (co)polymer or a fluorochemical urethane compound containing at least one fluorinated group having the formula &#x2014;CF)CF, wherein n is an integer from 1 to 3; B. from about 5 to about 99.9 wt % of a copolymer comprising the reaction product of a. from about 40 to about 70 wt % of an alkyl (meth)acrylate, wherein the alkyl group contains from 16 to 22 carbon atoms, b. from about 3 to about 20 wt % of (meth)acrylic acid, c. from about 20 to about 40 wt % acrylonitrile, and d. from 0 to about 15 wt % of vinyl monomer, other than acrylonitrile, wherein the sum of a. through d. equals 100%; and C. from 0 to about 94.9 wt % of an extender polymer, wherein the sum of A., B., and C. is 100% and wt % is based on the total amount of solids in the composition.

Curable dispersants

Low viscosity, radiation curable urethane oligomer, preferably a radiation curable polyester urethane oligomer, that can be incorporated into radiation curable ink compositions. Preferred embodiments are suitable for ink jetting applications. The ink jettable embodiments are particularly well-suited for use in piezo ink jet printers. The viscosity characteristics of the compositions are such that conventional solvent is not required in order to satisfy the requisite low ink jet viscosity specifications. The oligomer generally is a reaction product of ingredients comprising an aliphatic polyisocyanate; and a radiation curable, polyester alcohol comprising one or more radiation curable moieties, one or more hydroxyl moieties, and one or more ester moieties.

The invention provides novel macromonomer and carboxyl functional polyurethanes having a high carboxyl content. The invention further provides dispersions, coatings and magnetic recording media comprising these polyurethanes, or blends or copolymers of these polyurethanes with quaternary ammonium compounds. The invention further provides novel dispersions, coatings and magnetic recording media comprising combinations of carboxyl functional polyurethanes having a high carboxyl content with quaternary ammonium polymers.

Described are pigmented inks comprising a liquid medium, a pigment, and a polyurethane dispersant, the pigment being stabilized by the polyurethane dispersant, and the ink being suitable for use in an ink jet printer.

Pigmented inks are disclosed comprising an aqueous medium, a pigment, a dispersant, and a humectant. Inks are disclosed where the humectant is a sulfonated polyethylene oxide which provides long decap times and fast drying of the printed image. Inks are further disclosed where the dispersant is an alkyl(sulfophenoxy)benzenesulfonic acid or its salt. Such dispersants reduce the agglomeration of pigment particles and reduce or eliminate the deposition of foreign substances on heater elements during the jetting process. A variety of pigments, dispersants, humectants, and aqueous media can be used. Combinations of a sulfonated polyethylene oxide humectant and an alkyl(sulfophenoxy)benzenesulfonic acid (salt) dispersant provide inks with good stability, few kogation problems, long decap times and relatively fast drying times.
