An interferometer system for measuring the displacement of a location of a test surface includes a reflective beamsplitter having a through-hole through which light enters into and exits from a reference arm and having a second through-hole through which a portion of light from the measurement arm of the interferometer passes through the beamsplitter and is incident on a position sensing device (PSD). The output of the PSD is then used as an indicator of the amount and direction of tilt of the surface under test so that systemic errors of the interferometer induced by the tilt of the test surface can be determined and removed from the displacement measurement.

Reflective interferometer systems and methods thereof

A system for measuring the topography of a surface including a carriage assembly and a base assembly. The carriage assembly comprising a plurality of displacement-measuring probes coupled to a carriage support structure. The base assembly positioned adjacent to the carriage assembly and comprising at least one reference object with an opening sized to receive a test object. Methods and systems for generating illumination modulation signals, image intensifier gain modulation signals, and image sensor shutter control signals in a three-dimensional image-capturing system with one or more frequency synthesizers is disclosed. The illumination modulation signals, image intensifier gain modulation signals, and image sensor shutter signal are all coherent with one another, being derived from a common clock source. The use of frequency synthesizer concepts allow for the use of rapid modulation phase changes for homodyne operation, and further allow the use of rapid modulation frequency changes to mitigate the effects of inter-camera interference.

Included in the method are generating a gravity vector based on a direction of gravity with respect to the drop pendant; establishing a reference frame of the drop pendant for an image processing based on a reference point of the drop pendant and the gravity vector; generating a first reference line associated with the reference frame for representing an actual orientation of the drop pendant; generating a second reference line associated with the reference frame for representing a longitudinal axis of a chamber in which the drop pendant is located; comparing the first and second reference lines with respect to the gravity vector; and calculating the volume of the drop pendant based on the comparison of the first and second reference lines and the gravity vector.

A method, non-transitory computer readable medium and device that minimize error conditions with substantially simultaneously and independently generated secret keys includes synchronizing with a mobile device configured to execute a corresponding key generation process. Data obtained based on at least one shared characteristic with the synchronized mobile device is converted into a plurality of binary numbers. At least one bit for each of the plurality of binary numbers which are at least measurably random is identified. An error condition with any of the determined bits for the plurality of binary numbers is identified. At least a portion of the determined bits for the plurality of binary numbers without the detected error condition are selected. A key is generated based on the selected determined bits for the plurality of binary numbers for use in securing communications with the synchronized mobile device.

A measurement system includes an optical probe that has a reflective prism structure, an input system, and an output system. The reflective prism structure comprises at least two mirrored surfaces on opposing sides of an axis which extends in a direction towards a target. The input system is positioned to receive and direct source light towards one of the mirrored surfaces which is positioned to reflect the source light towards the target. The output system is positioned to receive and output converging light from reflected light that comprises measurement data related to the target. The reflected light is the source light reflected from the target via the other one of the mirrored surfaces and is without substantial overlap with the source light.

An optical imaging assembly configured to obtain an image of an object. The assembly includes a light-transmissive sleeve arranged on an optical axis and configured to enclose the object. Four refractive elements are arranged in series on the optical axis and each have an input surface and an output surface. An aperture stop is disposed on the optical axis between the third and fourth refractive elements. The input surface of the third refractive element, the output surface of the third refractive element, the input surface of the fourth refractive element, the output surface of the fourth refractive element, of a combination of the foregoing have radial symmetry.

Methods and systems for the image processing of a three-dimensional imaging system include a multi-processor embodiment wherein the image output by an image sensor is divided amongst the several multi-processors for processing in order to improve the frame rate of the three-dimensional imaging system. Since the frame rate of a three-dimensional imaging system utilizing an image-intensifier is not limited by the amount of useful signal light available for imaging but is instead limited by image processing capacity, this technology provides for the use of multi-core or multi-processor image processing methods to improve the frame rate. Additionally, locating the image processor in close proximity to the image sensor allows for faster image data communication between the image sensor and image processor, which further improves the frame rate of the three-dimensional imaging system.

A drip chamber for an infusion tube, including: a first end including a drip tube; a second end including an exit port; and a wall connecting the first and second ends and including an interior surface with a hydrophobic portion. The drip chamber includes a space enclosed by the interior wall and the first and second ends. The hydrophobic portion of the interior surface repels liquid contacting the hydrophobic coating. The hydrophobic portion of the interior surface enables light to refract through the hydrophobic portion and the wall in the same manner as is the case when the hydrophobic portion is not present on the interior surface.
