A method and system for enhancement of video systems using wireless device proximity detection. The enhanced video system consists of one or more video capture devices along with one or more sensors detecting the presence of devices with some form of wireless communications enabled. The proximity of a device communicating wirelessly is sensed and cross referenced with received video image information. Through time, movement of wirelessly communicating mobile devices through a venue or set of venues can be deduced and additionally cross referenced to and augmented over image data from the set of video capture devices.

Enhanced video system

A method and system for Proactive Loss Prevention (PLP) System in venue and retail using wireless-based technology. Physical security measures are the first line of defense for protecting assets in any venue and retail spaces. These systems (e.g. Electronic Article Surveillance systems) are widely deployed in retail spaces. However, retail theft is still estimated at a multibillion dollar level on an annual basis in the US alone. This invention augments existing physical security systems to enable a proactive approach for suspect identification and subsequent presence alerting using a wireless local area network (WLAN) based system.

Proactive loss prevention system

A method and system for the anonymization and segmentation of the media access control (MAC) addresses reported by visitors' 802.11 enabled devices at a venue operator premises. This system assures a venue operator and its visitors that no individually identifying information about a visitor is re-transmitted or stored that can be traced back to their MAC address, while still allowing the venue operator to obtain venue visitor counts visit frequencies well as traffic patterns during visits (i.e. dwell times at, and movements between, locations within a venue) and counts of common visitors between venues. It also ensures that the data generated is segmented so that the data obtained by two different venue operators is not correlatable between visitors common to the two sets of data.

Source based anonymity and segmentation for visitors

A method and system for proximity detection, recognition and classification of a wireless local area network (WLAN) enabled device without a WLAN infrastructure. The proximity recognition system monitors WLAN communications at one or more known locations. The proximity of a WLAN device (transmitter) is sensed by examining signal strength received therefrom as the device engages in a sequence of protocol data unit exchanges seeking WLAN association.
