A mirror assembly including a mirror, a base and a flexible neck connecting the mirror and the base such that the neck can be manually manipulated to adjust the position of the base and the mirror relative to each other. The mirror assembly further includes a light source located on or adjacent to the mirror, and a power-source receiving receptacle located in the base, wherein the power-source receptacle cavity is electrically coupled to the light source.

A shoe rack including at least one frame structure and a hanger coupled to the frame structure, the hanger being shaped to couple the shoe rack to a generally vertically-oriented support surface such that the frame structure is located generally adjacent to the support surface. The frame structure includes a plurality of support arms shaped to extend generally away from the support surface when the frame structure is located generally adjacent to the support surface. The rack includes a plurality of generally horizontally-oriented, vertically spaced inner rungs coupled to the frame structure and a plurality of generally horizontally-oriented, vertically spaced outer rungs coupled to the frame structure. The rack further includes a plurality of generally vertically-oriented struts, each strut extending between adjacent ones of the outer rungs or adjacent ones of the support arms to provide vertical support to the outer rungs and the support arms.

A system and method for mounting an object to a support utilizes a push-pin that is adapted to be pushed or screwed into the support (such as a wall), without necessitating the use of hammers, screwdrivers, drills, etc. The push-pin has a novel head that includes resilient &ldquo;grippers&rdquo; for providing a friction fit within a hole or channel of the object (such as a shelf) to be mounted to the support. In an exemplary embodiment, the grippers are a plurality of resilient annular rings sized to be slightly larger in diameter than the dimension of the mating hole or channel so that when the mating hole or channel of the object engages with the larger diameter rings, the rings are deformed slightly upon entering the hole or channel, thereby, providing a friction fit between the head of the pin and the object to be mounted to the support.

A serving utensil, which in a preferred embodiment is in the form of an ice cream scoop that can be heated in a conventional or home microwave oven to facilitate scooping a frozen confection from a container. The serving utensil includes bowl portion formed from a substantially rigid material that becomes heated when subjected to microwave radiation in a conventional microwave oven and handle portion, attached to the bowl portion, formed from a substantially rigid material that substantially restricts the absorption of microwave energy. The handle portion includes a recess in its upper side approximate the bowl portion adapted to receive a user's thumb therein and a transverse groove in its underside, longitudinally aligned with the recess and adapted to receive a user's index finger therein. The handle portion also preferably includes a substantially longitudinally-extending bore extending its forward end, and the bowl portion includes a plug received within and bonded to the longitudinally-extending bore of the handle portion, thereby improving the durability of the attachment between the handle portion and the bowl portion. The plug extending from handle portion preferably includes a plurality of radially extending ribs which increase the surface area of the plug, thereby facilitating a better bond between the bowl portion and the handle portion and also improving heat dissipation from the bowl portion into the handle portion. In use, the utensil is placed within a microwave oven and subjected to microwave energy for a predetermined period of time. Because only the bowl portion includes microwave absorbing material, only the bowl portion will become heated. Once the heating process is finished, the utensil can be removed from the oven by its relatively cool handle portion and used to serve ice cream easily and efficiently because the heated portion softens the ice cream it contacts, thus facilitating the scooping action with enhanced lubrication and reduced force.

A method for serving a frozen confection includes the steps of: (a) providing a utensil including a bowl portion formed from a substantially rigid material that becomes heated when subjected to microwave radiation in a conventional microwave oven and including a handle portion attached to the bowl portion, formed from a substantially rigid material that substantially restricts the absorption of microwave energy; (b) subjecting the utensil to microwave energy for a predetermined period of time, so that the bowl portion becomes heated; and (c) manually gripping the handle portion of the utensil to scoop the frozen confection with the heated bowl portion.

A landscape timber connecting system for use with landscape timber or the like includes first and second interlocking members. The first and second members each have a bracket shaped to engage an end of a first landscape timber, and in a preferred embodiment, a hinge component. The hinge components are adapted to align with each other and form a channel along a common, substantially vertical pivot axis. A hinge pin shaped to be inserted in the channel along the common pivot axis and extend downwardly into ground beneath the system such that the first and second members can be pivotally positioned relative to each other about the common pivot axis to position associated engaged landscape timbers at a selected angle relative to each other, and the hinge pin anchors and fixes the system to the ground. In an alternate embodiment, the members slidably engage to form a straight, non-pivoting joint.

A landscape timber connecting system for use with landscape timber or the like, and includes a first member and a second member. The first member having a bracket that is shaped to engage an end of a first landscape timber, and a first hinge component. The second member having a bracket that is shaped to receive an end of a second landscape timber, and a second hinge component. The second hinge component is adapted to align with the first hinge component along a common, substantially vertical pivot axis. A hinge pin is shaped to engage the first and second hinge components along the common pivot axis and extend downwardly into ground beneath the system such that the first and second members can be pivotally positioned relative to each other about the common pivot axis to position associated engaged landscape timbers at a selected angle relative to each other, and the hinge pin anchors and fixes the system to the ground.
