A system is disclosed for measuring a temperature of air within a container or other enclosure containing temperature controlled items or other product. The system includes a temperature sensor having a thermocouple within a shaft, and a fan for drawing air from within the container through the shaft and past a junction of the thermocouple. The temperature sensor further includes a control unit for correlating a voltage from the thermocouple to a temperature.

Container temperature monitoring system

A computer monitoring system includes a processor and sensors electrically thereto that are positioned beneath the playing surface directly below a boundary line. The sensors are connected in series to the processor such that each sensor is independently activated and generates an analog output signal when a predetermined weight limit is detected thereon. The sensors are positioned below a three-point and a free-throw line. An analog-to-digital converter is coupled to the processor and sensors that receives and converts the analog signals to digital signals. A memory includes programmable software instruction that cause the system to perform a series of operations. The processor generates and transmits audible and visual notification signals for each of the consecutive digital signals when the time span is greater than the threshold interval.

Automated detection system for sports fields and the like

This invention provides methods and compositions for treating tumors. The cell population is made up of alloactivated lymphocytes from the patient or from one or more third-party donors that are alloactivated in a mixed lymphocyte culture. It can be placed into the tumor bed, or combined with tumor-associated antigen for administration to a distal site as a vaccine. The compositions recruit activated participation of the host Immune system, which then reacts against the tumor and provides a level of ongoing protection. Employing multiple third party donor cells confers particular advantages in terms of effectiveness, timing, and ease of use.

Treating tumors using implants comprising combinations of allogeneic cells

An improvement for atomic force microscopes, more generally for light beam detecting systems, but also in part applicable to scanning probe microscopes, providing significant novel features and advantages. Particular features include using different objective lens regions for incident and reflected light, a flexure that allows three dimensional motion of the optics block, forming the housing and optics block of a composite material or ceramic, arranging the components so that the beam never hits a flat surface at normal incidence, and providing a resonant frequency of cantilever vibration greater than 850 HZ between the cantilever and sample and the cantilever and focusing lens.

Measurement head for atomic force microscopy and other applications

This invention provides novel methods for the detection of chitinous contaminants of non-chitinous biological materials. The methods are accurate, highly reproducible, rapid and relatively inexpensive. The methods are well suited to commercial applications, particularly in the food and agriculture industry where biological materials (e.g. food products) are regularly screened for contaminants (e.g. insect, mold, fungus, etc.). In one embodiment, the methods involve contacting a biological sample with a probe that is a lectin that binds chitin, contacting the sample with a pectinase; and detecting binding of said lectin to a chitin where the binding indicates the presence of chitin in the biological sample.

Methods of detecting chitinous material in a non-chitinous biological material

The present invention provides methods of determining whether test cells in a sample are cancerous or not and determining if lymphocytes are activated or not. The method measures the test cell's DNA ploidy and the cellular activity of an enzyme such as an esterase, which has altered expression in cancer cells. Esterase activity can be measured using fluorescent compounds such as fluorescein diacetate.
