A method to perform continuous-wave NMR measurements of nuclear magnetization at high magnetic fields, above 2.5 T, without analog down-mixing is described. An FPGA controls a digital clock pulse which is used to stimulate a resonant circuit and provide a reference signal. An algorithm determines the real portion of a resonant circuit signal near the Larmor frequency of the species of interest using only two measurements of the waveform per cycle. The FPGA automatically alters a variable capacitance to tune the resonant circuit to the Larmor frequency.

Digital Q-Meter for continuous-wave NMR

A system for treating tar sand involving a centrifuge where under centrifugal force solvent treated tar sand and water form a three layer system of wet sand, water, and petroleum, where solvent solubilized hydrocarbons are stripped from the wet sand layer, passed through the water, and into the petroleum layer. The hydrocarbons are skimmed from the hydrocarbon layer and recovered.

An apparatus and method for milling rumble strips into a pavement surface with a cutting wheel. The cutting wheel has rows of a cutting and non-cutting surface and is rotated to alternately present and withdraw a cutting surface and a non-cutting surface to the asphalt and cut a periodic rumble strip pattern as the apparatus moves forward. This alternating pattern is achieved without any up and down motion of the cutting wheel, and the apparatus can be operated a relatively rapid speed.

Prefabricated panels are formed by compressing a fiber slurry which may be composed of waste fiber products such as waste paper, cardboard, straw, leaves and grass clippings. The slurry, which may contain waterproofing, fire retardants, anti fungal agents and insecticides, is poured into a press form which contains the framework of a roof panel, wall panel, ceiling panel or floor panel as well as electrical wiring, heating ducts, plumbing or any other desired component. The fiber slurry is compressed to at least 1/4 of its original volume forming a solid dense inner core. This inner core can be covered with wall board, wall board paper, stucco, plaster, cement or stone. A method for locking the panels together is also disclosed.

Prefab fiber building construction

A pavement trench mill is designed to be attached to the bucket of a front loader or backhoe. The pavement trench mill has a self contained engine to power the mandrel and is raised and lowered by the bucket on which it is mounted. The trench mill has a gauge that controls the depth of the cut. The cutting drum has a double cutting action which is provided by two sets of edge mounted teeth. The first set of edge mounted teeth are at the same radius and angle as the remainder of the mandrel cutting teeth. The second set of edge mounted teeth are spaced slightly wider (longitudinally) and slightly lower (closer to center of mandrel). This row of teeth trims the outer edge of the trench with greater frequency and leaves the edge smoother.
