A service provider system may store buyer information and merchant information related to past purchasing history of one or more buyers. In some examples, based in part on the buyer information and/or the merchant information the service provider system may identify items that the buyer regularly or habitually purchases. In some cases, the service provider system may pre-order or pre-purchase the items on behalf of the buyer and send a message to a device associated with the buyer to inform the buyer that an order for the regularly purchased item has been placed.

Geo-fences may be dynamically reconfigured to identify merchants that may be of particular interest to users. In some instances, a geo-fence may be defined for a particular user based on a variety of information, in order to identify merchants that may be of interest to the user and that are located within proximity to the user. The geo-fence may be defined based on purchase history, places that are frequented by the user, a mode of transportation, a navigation or transportation route, user preferences, and/or a variety of other information. Information regarding the identified merchants may be displayed or otherwise output to notify the user of nearby merchants that may be of interest.

In some examples, a service may determine delivery timings based on a delivery location and at least one local condition, such as traffic. The system includes one or more buyer devices and a plurality of courier devices that communicate with a service computing device over a network. The buyer device and the courier devices provide geographic location information to the service, such as based on input from respective GPS receivers. The service may determine local traffic information based on tracking the courier movement, and may determine predicted travel times from the merchant pickup location to the delivery location, and from the buyer order location to the delivery location. Based on the predicted travel times and a preparation time for an ordered item, the service may manage timing for preparation and delivery of an item so that the courier's arrival at the delivery location approximately coincides with buyer's arrival.

A particular item may be categorized based on delivery times of the particular item. In some instances, the particular item may be ranked across multiple merchants that are offering the particular item for acquisition. The ranking may be based on an estimated amount of delivery time to deliver the particular item, for the individual merchants, to a current location of a user. The estimated amount of delivery time may be based on a preparation time for the respective merchant to prepare the particular item, a courier time for a courier to transport the particular item to the current location of the user, and so on. Information regarding the ranking may be displayed or otherwise output to enable the user to identify and order the particular item from a merchant that satisfies the user's needs.

Categorization of items based on item delivery time

Item-level information of a particular item may be processed to categorize the particular item. In some instances, the particular item may be ranked across multiple merchants that are offering the particular item for acquisition. The ranking may be based on the item-level information that relates to an attribute of the particular item for the individual merchants. For example, the item-level information may include a cost of the particular item at a merchant, a rating of the particular item for a merchant, a number of calories of the particular item for a merchant, and so on. Information regarding the ranking may be displayed or otherwise output to enable the user to identify and order the particular item from a merchant that satisfies the user's needs.
