Airbag cushion chutes and related assemblies comprising airbag cushion chutes for controlling airbag cushion deployment and/or protecting screens or other equipment in a vehicle. In some embodiments, an airbag cushion assembly may comprise a housing and an airbag cushion chute positioned within the housing. An inflatable cushion may be positioned within the airbag cushion chute, which airbag cushion chute may be configured to, upon deployment of the inflatable cushion, extend out of the housing to restrict expansion of the inflatable cushion in a lateral direction, which may allow for protecting, for example, a disassociated screen of a vehicle.

Airbag assembly chutes

An inflatable knee airbag having a flexible housing is disclosed. An inflatable knee airbag may provide protection for the lower anatomy of an occupant in a vehicle collision event. The disclosed inflatable knee airbag may include components, such as the inflatable airbag cushion, inflator, etc., within a flexible housing supported by a rigid or semi-rigid mounting plate. The flexible housing may conform to the shape of enclosed components, and may support and protect the enclosed components. The flexible housing may be lighter and more cost-effective than conventional housing methods.

Knee airbag assemblies

An airbag includes a first panel and a second panel. A first wing is formed with one of the first panel and the second panel, the first wing being coupled to the other of the first panel and the second panel. At least a second wing is formed with one of the first panel and the second panel, the second wing being coupled to the other of the first panel and the second panel. The airbag includes a first depth that extends from the first panel to the second panel proximate the first wing and the second wing when the airbag is in the deployed position and at least a second depth extending from the first panel to the second panel proximate the first base, wherein the second depth is less than the first depth.

Driver airbag for oblique and frontal impacts

Airbags and airbag assemblies are disclosed that include passive adaptive venting. The disclosed embodiments include an airbag cushion to define an inflation chamber and that include a set of vents. The set of vents is disposed through a panel of the airbag cushion. The set of vents allow egress of inflation gas from the inflation chamber and to be in an open state when a degree of compression of the airbag cushion is below a threshold level. The set of vents is configured to be in a closed state and/or obstructed by a vehicle surface of a vehicle structure when the degree of compression of the airbag cushion exceeds the threshold level.
