Techniques for accurate positioning of an energy application device for neuromodulation treatment protocols are provided. A neuromodulation positioning patch is applied to a patient's skin. The energy application device is coupled to a frame of the neuromodulation positioning patch to position a transducer of the energy application device within an opening at a treatment position within the opening. The frame is also coupled to a removable dock for an imaging probe. When the frame is coupled to the removable dock the frame of the neuromodulation positioning patch, acquires image data through the opening to identify or verify the treatment position.

Neuromodulation energy application techniques

The present discussion relates to structures and devices to facilitate application of an ultrasound therapy beam to a target anatomic region in a replicable manner. In certain aspects, adjustable positioning structures are described that allow a general probe positioning structure to be configured for a specific patient in a manner that allows the device to be used repeatedly to target the anatomic region, even when in non-clinical settings. In other aspects, a probe positioning structure is fabricated that is specific to a respective patient anatomy, such that use of the probe positioning structure provides repeatable targeting of the target anatomic region, even when in non-clinical settings.

An electronic package includes a first layer having a first surface, the first layer includes a first device having a first electrical node, and a first contact pad in electrical communication with the first electrical node and positioned within the first surface. In accordance with one aspect of the present technique, a method is disclosed. The method includes applying a mechanical perturbation to a tissue region using a displacement device. The method further includes calculating a compression impedance of the tissue region in response to applying the mechanical perturbation. The method further includes retracting the displacement device and calculating a retraction impedance of the tissue region in response to retracting the displacement device. The method also includes determining a hydration level of the tissue region based on at least one of the compression impedance and the retraction impedances.

A method for activating an optical article includes providing an optical article, wherein at least one mark is disposed on the optical article, wherein the mark comprises an optical-state change material in an initial state, the initial state preventing the optical article from being read by a player; deriving an unlock code by cryptographic operations on an optical article operatively coupled with a POS equipment and a data input from a medium encrypted with a cryptographic algorithm; deriving a toggling signal from an unlock code, and applying the toggling signal to the at least one mark resulting in changing the optical-state change material to a final state, the final state allowing the optical article to be read by the player; wherein the toggling signal comprises a set of values corresponding to the respective states of each of a plurality of marks on the surface of the optical article, and wherein applying the toggling signal results in setting each of the marks to either one of an initial state or a final state, corresponding to the value for the mark in the toggling signal.

An activation system for optical media in one embodiment includes a tag having at least one pair of conductors with at least one heating element coupled to the conductors. The heating element is oriented proximate one or more activation regions on the optical media, and wherein the heating element activates the optical media. The tag in one embodiment is an elongate flexible tag material with a number of conductors that couple on one end to heating elements wherein the heating elements are disposed within a media case such that they are proximate activation regions on a media article.
