A cryogenic tank includes a shell having an interior side, an exterior side, and an internal volume that is bounded by the interior side. The shell has a shape that includes at least two elongated lobes that are defined by partial cylinders that intersect each other. The partial cylinders extend lengths along central longitudinal axes that are offset from each other. The lobes include opposite domes that extend at opposite ends of the length of the corresponding partial cylinder. The cryogenic tank includes an internal reinforcement frame having a web of elongate frame members extending within the internal volume. The frame members extend along the interior side of the shell such that lengths of the frame members extend along paths that follow the profile of the interior side of the shell. The internal reinforcement frame is configured to distribute loads exerted on the shell along at least three different directions.

Cryogenic tank

An x-ray source is disclosed comprising: an anode disk with first and second beveled annuli at a periphery of the anode disk, the anode disk rotatably coupled to a housing structure via a support shaft; first and second cathodes mounted to a yoke support structure, the yoke support structure configured to direct cathode emissions at x-ray generating material disposed on the beveled annuli; and a high-voltage insulator configured to electrically insulate the yoke support structure from the housing structure.

An imaging tube assembly () for a computed tomography (CT) system () includes an insert () that has a vacuum chamber (). An anode () resides within the vacuum chamber () and rotates on a shaft () via one or more bearing (). In one embodiment, a seal () resides between the insert () and the shaft (). The seal () prevents the passage of a gas () into the vacuum chamber (). In another embodiment, a pressure transition chamber () is coupled to an insert (&#x2033;) and a shaft (&#x2033;). The pressure transition chamber () has an associated middle fluid pressure that is between an internal fluid pressure of the vacuum chamber () and an external fluid pressure of said insert (&#x2033;).

An x-ray source with an x-ray source target are provided. The x-ray source includes an electron source. The x-ray source also includes an x-ray transmission window. The x-ray source also includes an x-ray source target located between the electron source and the window, wherein the target is arranged to receive electrons from the electron source to generate x-rays in the x-ray source target, and a rotational mechanism adapted to rotate the x-ray source target. A method of producing x-rays and an x-ray target are also provided.

Rotating notched transmission x-ray for multiple focal spots

An x-ray tube is provided including an anode mounted to a rotatable shaft positioned within a center bore of a stem element, a bearing assembly positioned between the rotatable shaft and the stem element, and at least one liquid metal shunt in thermal communication with both the rotatable shaft and the stem element, located adjacent to the anode between the anode and the bearing assembly, and directing heat generated at the anode away from the bearing assembly by allowing heat to flow from the rotatable shaft into the stem element prior to heat reaching the bearing assembly.
