A color conversion film is provided. The film includes at least one narrow band emission phosphor dispersed within a binder matrix, wherein the narrow band emission phosphor has a D50 particle size from about 0.1 μm to about 15 μm and is selected from the group consisting of a green-emitting U-containing phosphor, a green-emitting Mn-containing phosphor, a red-emitting phosphor based on complex fluoride materials activated by Mn, and a mixture thereof. A process for preparing a Mndoped phosphor of formula I A[MF]:MnI includes combining a first solution comprising a source of A and a second solution comprising HMFin the presence of a source of Mn, to form the Mndoped phosphor; wherein A is Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, or a combination thereof; M is Si, Ge, Sn, Ti, Zr, Al, Ga, In, Sc, Y, La, Nb, Ta, Bi, Gd, or a combination thereof; x is the absolute value of the charge of the [MF] ion; y is 5, 6 or 7; and wherein a value of a Hammett acidity function of the first solution is at least −0.9. Particles produced by the process may have a particle size distribution with a Dparticle size of less than 10 μm.

Processes for preparing color stable red-emitting phosphor particles having small particle size

The present disclosure relates to a device used in conjunction with night vision equipment. The device including an LED light source optically coupled and/or radiationally connected to a phosphor material including a green-emitting phosphor and a red-emitting phosphor of formula I:AMF:Mn  Iwherein A is Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, or a combination thereof, M is Si, Ge, Sn, Ti, Zr, Al, Ga, In, Sc, Hf, Y, La, Nb, Ta, Bi, Gd, or a combination thereof, x is an absolute value of a charge of the MFion; and y is 5, 6 or 7. The device limits emission of wavelengths longer than 650 nm to less than 1.75% of total emission. A device including an LED light source optically coupled and/or radiationally connected to a red-emitting phosphor including NaSiF:Mnis also provided.

The composition includes a binder material and at least one narrow band emission phosphor being uniformly dispersed throughout the composition, wherein the narrow band emission phosphor has a D50 particle size from about 0.1 &#x3bc;m to about 15 &#x3bc;m and is selected from the group consisting of a green-emitting U-containing phosphor, a green-emitting Mn-containing phosphor, a red-emitting phosphor based on complex fluoride materials activated by Mn, and a mixture thereof. Ink compositions with narrow band emission phosphor materials

Briefly, in one aspect, the present invention relates to processes for producing a stabilized Mndoped phosphor in solid form and a composition containing such doped phosphor. Such process may include combining a) a solution comprising at least one substance selected from the group consisting of: KHPO, an aluminum phosphate, oxalic acid, phosphoric acid, a surfactant, a chelating agent, or a combination thereof, with b) a Mndoped phosphor of formula I in solid form, where formula I may be: A[MF]:Mn. The process can further include isolating the stabilized Mndoped phosphor in solid form. In formula I, A may be Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, or a combination thereof. In formula I, M may be Si, Ge, Sn, Ti, Zr, Al, Ga, In, Sc, Y, La, Nb, Ta, Bi, Gd, or a combination thereof. In formula I, x is the absolute value of the charge of the [MF] ion and y is 5, 6 or 7.

Method to enhance phosphor robustness and dispersability and resulting phosphors

A potassium hexafluoromanganate (K2MnF6) composition includes no more than six parts per million of each of one or more Group 13 elements, no more than 520 parts per million of one or more alkaline earth metals, no more than fourteen parts per million of one or more transition metals, and/or no more than forty parts per million of calcium. A method for providing this composition, as well as lighting apparatuses, backlight units, and electronic devices including phosphors formed from the composition also are provided.
