A power harness includes a plug housing holding a power contact and a busbar received in a chamber of the plug housing. The power contact has a mating portion having a separable mating interface configured to be plugged into a header contact stack of header contacts of the header connector when mated with the header connector. The busbar is welded to a weld pad at a terminating portion of the power contact. A threaded bolt passes through the plug housing configured to be threadably coupled to a threaded connector of the header connector to secure the plug housing to the header connector.

An electrical terminal for use with an electrical connector which includes a housing for receiving the electrical terminals therein. The electrical terminals have transition portions and substrate mating portions. The transition portions extend from a rear face of the housing. The substrate mating portions extend from the transition portions. The substrate mating portions have substrate engagement ends configured to be inserted into openings of a substrate. Shoulders are provided on the substrate mating portions. The shoulders are in a different plane than a longitudinal axis of the transition portions. Wherein forces associated with mating the electrical terminals to the substrate are transferred through the shoulders to an insertion tool used to move the terminals into the openings.

An electrical connector assembly is shown having a housing member with a mating assist which rotatably draws complementary connectors together. The mating assist is actuated by way of a linear actuator which rotates the mating assist member.

A stacked electrical connector formed by mating an upper and a lower housing having rows of cavities containing terminals is disclosed. The upper and lower housings have primary terminal assurance provided by lances integrally formed into the housings. A secondary terminal assurance system is provided to further secure the terminals within the housings. In one embodiment, secondary terminal assurance is to terminals in the upper housing by lower housing protrusions and to terminals in the lower housing by a hinge. In another embodiment, secondary terminal assurance is provided to terminals in the upper and lower housing by upper and lower protrusions of a lock plate.

An electrical connector assembly is provided including first and second housings having ends configured to receive electrical contacts. The first and second housings are configured to be matable with one another to join corresponding electrical contacts. The electrical connector assembly includes a lever member having a cam arm received by the first housing and engaging the second housing as the lever member is rotated through a range of motion from an insertion position to an engaged position. The lever member connects the first and second housings to join corresponding electrical contacts when the lever member is rotated to the engaged position. The lever member has a position assurance tab received by the first housing.

An electrical connector system for use with an automobile power control module has been provided, which comprises a plurality of sealed plug assemblies and a header assembly. Each of the sealed plug assemblies includes a cam lever. The header assembly includes a plurality of shrouds for receiving the plurality of sealed plug assemblies. The plurality of shrouds corresponds to the plurality of sealed plug assemblies. Each of the sealed plug assemblies is mated into one of the plurality of shrouds through a movement of said cam lever.

An electrical connector includes a first housing having a first set of electrical contacts and a second housing having a second set of electrical contacts. The first and second housing are configured to be matable with one another to mate the first set of contacts with the second set of contacts. The first and second housings are movable between an initial position wherein the first and second sets of electrical contacts are unmated and a final position wherein the respective first and second sets of electrical contacts are fully mated. A lever member is rotatably mounted to the first housing and configured to engage the second housing when rotated. The lever member is configured to move the first and second housings between the initial and final positions as the lever member is rotated when the lever and the second housing are initially aligned. The lever member includes at least one blocking beam configured to separate the first and second housings as the lever member is rotated when the lever member and the second housing are initially misaligned.

An electrical connector is provided including matable first and second housings configured to receive electrical contacts. The electrical connector assembly includes a lever member having a cam arm engaging the first and second housing to connect the first and second housings to join corresponding electrical contacts. The first housing has a latch assembly engaging the lever member when the lever member is in a final engaged position. The first housing has a locking member that holds the cam arm in an insertion position. The first housing has a wire shield with feet and a tab that is retained in slots and a catch on the first housing. The electrical contacts have retention features that are retained in an encapsulate in a chamber abutting the second housing.

A connector assembly is provided that includes first and second mating connector housings. A lever is attached to the first connector housing to facilitate sliding engagement between the housings. The second housing and the lever include respective cam projections that mate in an alignment mode of operation thereby permitting the lever to be pivoted to bring the housings together. When the housings are not properly aligned, respective cam projections engage each other to prevent pivoting of the lever.
