Systems and methods for insertion of contact profile images into messages are disclosed. The images can be received from a public profile of a social media website, or from locally stored content. The images may be selected based on a context, such as the recipient and/or sender address, or context of the message. The selected image is inserted into the message instead of, or in addition to the contact name. The recipient then receives a message that includes the inserted image.

The method may include evaluating text from a sender to a receiver to identify a proper name, comparing the text against a repository containing one or more proper names, determining a confidence ranking related to the accuracy of spelling of the proper name using shared contacts between the sender and receiver, and outputting a specific spelling of the proper name based on a highest confidence ranking of the confidence ranking.

Provided are techniques for voice focus enabled by predetermined triggers. Voice recognition is used to identify one or more pre-determined triggers from a voice of a speaker. In response to identifying the one or more pre-determined triggers, a voice recognition template is dynamically created for the voice of the speaker, and the voice recognition template and voice isolation are used to focus on the voice from the speaker.

In an embodiment of the invention, a method for privacy preservation of core dump data during application fault handling can be provided. The method can include receiving a crash signal for an application and generating a core dump with object data for the application. The method further can include obfuscating the object data in the core dump and writing the core dump with obfuscated object data to a file. In this way, the privacy of the object data in the core dump can be preserved.

A new approach to customer support that protects working artifacts through their entire lifecycle by provisioning, on-demand, a transient-controlled debugging environment that preferably is associated with a particular support issue (or subset of issues) when particular artifacts (e.g., files) are securely received at the service or software provider. Various metrics (e.g., the duration of time spent in creating the communication, the number of keystrokes used in creating the communication, the number of words used in creating the communication, the number of mistakes made and corrected in creating the communication, and the number of attachments to the communication) associated with creating a communication are recorded which are used to assess an effort provided by the author in creating the communication. A weighted priority to be associated with responses to the communication is determined based on these recorded metrics. The weighted priority is then assigned to responses to such a communication. In this manner, the responses to the created communication will be able to be prioritized based on the weighted priority thereby enabling the author to determine which responses are more important to read than other responses.

A portlet may be selected from among one or more portlets rendered by an origin server. The origin server may have an object listening for pointer activity wherein a user event triggers selection of a portlet. The origin server, in response, may send state information of the portlet in the form of a key to a client, often operated by a user. Client may later send the key to a disjoint server, wherein the key is integrated into a portal containing services that the client subscribes to. Thus a persistent session may exist between the disjoint server and the origin server based on the user's preferences.

The present invention discloses a solution for increasing the immediacy in determining a point of failure after an unexpected program termination. In the solution, a user determined object is identified by a user at compile time, where the identified object is one to be tracked. The compiler introduces executable code into the source code which is able to track modifications made to the object members during run-time. During execution, the address of each instruction modifying to the object is stored in an instruction pointer (IP) array associated with the tracked object. The IP array is continuously updated during program execution when an instruction modifies a member of the tracked object. When an unexpected program termination occurs, the instruction pointer array can be presented to a debugging agent to assist in determining the instruction causing the termination. The debugging agent can be a human agent, debugging software, report generation software, and the like.

Techniques are disclosed for enabling users to define one or more areas of a graphical user interface ('GUI') as being 'glue-like'. When the user moves a pointing device (e.g., a mouse, joystick, track ball, etc.) and as a result, the graphical pointer moves into a painted area, the speed at which the graphical pointer will then traverse the GUI is programmatically slowed. Upon exiting the painted area, the graphical pointer speed is preferably restored to its prior setting. In this manner, the user achieves user-specific, application-independent control over the speed at which the graphical pointer moves.

Maintaining Multiple Valid Concurrent Serialized Object Versions Techniques are disclosed for concurrently maintaining serialized objects that were created from more than one version of a class definition. According to preferred embodiments, a component maps and enforces multiple valid stream-unique version identifiers ('SUIDs') for a collection of class definitions (such as the classes of a software product that is undergoing change from one version to another). This component programmatically detects when an object's SUID value does not match the code attempting to deserialize the object, and then programmatically determines whether the object is compatible with the code even though the SUID values do not match. Preferably, this determination is made by consulting a stored mapping, in which the SUIDs of compatible versions have been recorded.

Maintaining multiple valid concurrent serialized object versions

A system and method enhancing source code management with existing virus detection methods in a library management system to detect potentially malicious code. Malicious code that is introduced into a software product may be detected before the code is able to damage stored data and other software by preventing a product build with the malicious code. Source code received at a code management library system from a set of software developers in a collaborative development environment is moved into a staging area. A determination is made in the staging area as to whether malicious code exists in the source code. If malicious code exists, the library management system does not forward the source code to the software product build and notifies a system administrator of the presence of the malicious code.
