Processes for producing durable three-dimensional bowls such as water basins comprising plastics preferably acrylics heavily filled with alumina trihydrate, some embodiments including visible particles such as those sometimes used for simulating nature stone. A preferred process for manufacturing the bowls of such material includes defining a flat rigid blank such as from a larger rectangular bulk sheet in the approximate top outline shape of bowl to be formed, e.g., the blank being oval for an oval bowl and circular for a circular bowl. The blank is provided a smooth side which will be the concave finished and exposed side in use. The blank is heated to a point of softening and of uniform temperature throughout, located within a molding die such as a matched molding die having a female cavity of the desired bowl shape, indexed to the die, but left generally unrestrained so that the heated blank and un-clamped edges thereof are allowed to draw inward to reduce tension loads during forming. Force is applied relatively slowly to the blank, such as from a male portion of the die, to compress the blank into the female cavity and desired bowl shape. The bowl is cooled somewhat, removed from the die, the top edge trimmed to suitable evenness, a drain hole with surrounding bevel is cut in the bowl, an overflow hole is cut near the top edge for bathroom sinks, and sanding and polishing is applied on the exposed side(s).

Processes for producing durable three-dimensional bowls such as water basins comprising acrylic plastics heavily filled with alumina trihydrate, some embodiments including colorants and visible particles such as those used for simulating stone such as granite. The flat blank is provided a smooth side or sides which will be the concave finished side in use. The bowl is cooled, removed from the die, the top edge trimmed, a drain hole with surrounding bevel applied, and as-needed re-facing is applied on the exposed or finished side(s).

An easily assembled concrete form including a plurality of elongated wall members manufactured by roll forming and connected together to define an enclosure. Each wall member has a first end and a second end, an inner surface and an outer surface. Attached to the inner surface of the wall member at the first end is a key having legs extending beyond the first end of the wall member. Attached to the inner surface of the wall member at the second end is an interlocking bracket having two vertically spaced slots for receiving the legs of the key to connect adjacent wall members together. One of the slots is enlarged for also receiving an extending flange from a support bracket to frictionally maintain the U-shaped key and interlocking bracket in a locked relationship.

An easily assembled concrete form including a plurality of elongated wall members manufactured by roll forming and connected together to define an enclosure. Each wall member has a first end and a second end, an inner surface and an outer surface. Attached to the inner surface of the wall member at the first end is a U-shaped key having legs extending beyond the first end of the wall member. Attached to the inner surface of the wall member at the second end is an interlocking bracket having two vertically spaced slots for receiving the legs of the U-shaped key to connect adjacent wall members together. One of the slots is enlarged for also receiving an extending flange from a support bracket to frictionally maintain the U-shaped key and interlocking bracket in a locked relationship.

In hilly areas, building below the level of flooded manholes or secondary distribution boxes are often damaged by water entering the electric meter enclosure through the service conduit. For eliminating drain water from a service conduit before it reaches a meter enclosure, a drain pipe is installed in the conduit below the meter enclosure. The drain pipe must not be accessible to any probing and therefore has several spaced, oppositely and alternately positioned vanes in the bore with each vane covering over half the area of the bore.

A heat venting system for subterranean transformer enclosures for sidewalks or streets includes a vent guard that passes air but prevents solids and fluids such as destructive oil from dropping upon the transformers. Used in connection with a vent plate having very many small holes will prevent leaves and sticks from clogging the vent and destroying the transformers.

A solar heating system for supplementary heat in a building and preheating a supply of domestic water which collects significant quantities of heat at low temperatures to provide an efficient system which minimizes heat loss. A water preheating system is disposed within a larger solar enclosure to provide higher temperatures to preheat water with high efficiency. The structure of the building, i.e. the basement or crawl space, is used to store heat, thereby eliminating the need for bulky heat storage devices and reducing capital investment. High efficiency is afforded by the low temperature differentials which significantly reduce radiant heat loss.

Neonatal hood

A disposable hood of unitary one-piece construction for maintaining a desired gas atmosphere about the head of a patient incorporates a novel attachment means for connecting a flexible conduit or hose to the hood. The hood itself is a generally bubble-shaped chamber molded of a transparent material with the top and sidewalls being joined in arcuate contours so that there are no sharp corners. Flat extension means extend from the bottom of the hood so as to lie flatwise on the bed, and an arcuate ballast member is adapted to fit closely around the hood and on the flat extension means to hold the hood in position on the bed.

A flow regulating device provides continuous, regulated flow of a medical fluid, as well as intermittent, manually controlled larger flows of fluid to a catheter system. Such apparatus includes a control member having an inlet means adapted to be connected by tubing to a source of medical fluid and an outlet means adapted to be connected by tubing to a catheter. A flexible conduit defines at least a portion of a first passage between the inlet means and outlet means of the control member. A cylindrical, hollow extension extends from the outlet means coaxially within and to about the midsection of the flexible conduit. Positioned in the flexible conduit is valve means adapted to open when the conduit is squeezed, thereby providing the larger, intermittent, manually controlled flow of fluid to the catheter system, and to automatically close when the conduit is released. A second passage in the control member connects the inlet and outlet means, and in combination with flow restriction means therein, provides the continuous, regulated flow of fluid to the catheter system.
