A textile gas guide may include a fabric member which may include an obverse side, a reverse side, a leading edge, and a trailing edge. The fabric member may overlap upon itself at least once such that at least a portion of the obverse side adjacent the leading edge may be disposed to align with at least a portion of the reverse side adjacent the trailing edge to define an overlapping region. A first seam may be sewn through the overlapping region, the first seam being in shear stress when the airbag module is inflated. An airbag module may include the above textile gas guide and an airbag cushion including an inflation throat. At least a portion of the textile gas guide may be located within the inflation throat. An inflator may be inserted into the textile gas guide.

An airbag system for protecting a passenger in a motor vehicle including an ejection mitigation device configured to substantially cover an inside surface of the motor vehicle such as the rear window or the front windshield. The ejection mitigation device may be attached to one or more deployment guides which can then be attached to a driver or passenger side inflatable airbag. The deployment guides may be configured to guide the deployment of the ejection mitigation device during inflation of the driver and passenger side inflatable airbags.

An ejection mitigation system for use in a motor vehicle including one or more inflatable airbags and at least one ejection mitigation panel which is not integral with an inflatable airbag and wherein the ejection mitigation panel is attached to at least one point below the belt line of the motor vehicle.

A Z-height control tab maintains the distance between an airbag cover and a reaction housing. The reaction housing and airbag cover interlock to define a Z-height. The Z-height is defined as the distance between the two interlocked members. The Z-height control tab extends from the reaction housing and engages a wall edge of a skirt extending from the airbag cover. This Z-height control tab engagement maintains the Z-height by preventing the airbag cover and the reaction housing from compressing together.
