A cutting assembly () is configured for use with an electromagnetic tracking system (). The cutting assembly comprises a bur assembly () and a sheath assembly (). The sheath assembly comprises a sensor () configured to measure an electrical field around the cutting assembly, a wire () configured to operably connect the sensor and an external computing device (), and a sensor mount () affixed to at least a portion of the sheath assembly, the sensor mount configured to house the sensor and at least a portion of the wire. The sheath assembly is configured to receive at least a portion of the bur assembly such that any impact from magnetic interference caused by, for example, a cutting device () within the bur assembly on the sensor is minimized when the cutting device is cutting a patient's bone.

Cutting assembly for use with electromagnetic tracking

A plate probe and associated system and method for facilitating the orientation of an osteotomy and the implantation of an artificial joint component during arthroplastic surgery requiring an osteotomy. The probe comprises a coupler and a plate. The coupler is configured so that it can be connected to a position tracker, such that the position and orientation of the plate can be determined from the position of the tracker. The plate is configured so that it can be inserted into an opening of a bone-cutting mechanical guide, which is generally designed for receiving and guiding a surgical saw blade during a cutting operation.

Probe and associated system and method for facilitating planar osteotomy during arthoplasty

The present invention provides a golf putter having a shaft attached to the club face of the head by a hosel. The hosel is attached to the face with the bottom of the hosel flush with the bottom of the head and the bottom of the face. The hosel maintains the face and the shaft in spaced parallel planes to define a space between the face and the shaft. The hosel may have a circular cross sectional shape or another cross sectional shape that allows the golfer to better see the bottom of the hosel. The present invention provides a golf putter that allows the golfer to clearly see the bottom of the hosel and, thus, gauge the distance to the ground and the bottom of the golf putter so that the golfer can know how far he may come up in the stroke to apply a top spin to the golf ball without topping the ball and allows the golfer to apply a pulling stroke rather than a pushing stroke.
