A safe and arm device with a thermomagnetic generator sharing a tubular sed shaft with a turbine. Weapon propellant exhaust gas enters the shaft and heats thermomagnets in the generator causing their magnetism to be produced and flux lines to flow from rotor to stator. The gas moves translationally through the shaft and into the turbine. The gas leaving the turbine rotationally is discharged into a radial exhaust tube. A plug in the tube must be removed to permit gas exhaust from the turbine. Only then can the turbine and connected generator rotate causing the thermomagnetically produced flux lines of the rotor to be cut by the stator resulting in an induced voltage out of the generator.

Thermomagnetic safe arm device

A device for adjustably changing the arming time of a projectile having an rming mechanism for arming the projectile at a predetermined rate is presented. A pallet made of magnetically susceptable material and supported for repetitive movement is disposed within a generated magnetic field. The pallet is connected to the arming mechanism for corresponding movement therewith and is driven by the arming mechanism while arming. The magnetic field induces within the pallet, magnetic losses which retards the arming rate.

Electromagnetic arming rate regulator

A safety-arming device for use in a highly maneuverable missile is disclo which takes into account lateral acceleration of the missile and selects the proper point in the trajectory after which arming of the missile warhead may safely proceed. The safety-arming device uses a series of electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical interlocks to insure that premature arming of the missile warhead does not occur.

Trajectory adaptive safety-arming device

A semiactive bomblet fuze having both contact and proximity fuze capability or a free-fall weapon, and utilizing both a gyro-rotor aligning fuze train and an optical lens for initiating a light sensitive explosive detonator.

Optical, semi-active bomblet fuze

A pressure-armed, semiactive bomblet fuze, having both contact and proxim-fuze capability for a free-fall weapon, and utilizing both a gyro aligning fuze train and a photocell transducer for directly initiating an electric detonator.
