A seat includes a support having a first coupling hole and a second coupling hole disposed therein. The seat also includes a seat cradle having a back, a bottom, a first side fixedly connected to the back and the bottom, and a second side fixedly connected to the back and the bottom. The seat cradle has a neutral position in which a top portion of the back is positioned forward of a bottom portion of the back, and a rear portion of the bottom is positioned below a forward position of the bottom. The seat also has a first cradle coupler extending from the first side of the seat cradle, such that the first cradle coupler cannot rotate with respect to the first side. The seat further includes a second cradle coupler extending from the second side of the seat cradle, such that the second cradle coupler cannot rotate with respect to the second side. The first cradle coupler is received in the first coupling hole and the second cradle coupler is received in the second coupling hole.

Rotatable seat cradle

An adjustable back support assembly coupled to the back of a chair in which a user sits with his back spaced from the chair back. The adjustable back support assembly includes a back support that is pivotally connected to the back of the chair by a hinge. The back support is rotatable at the hinge away from the chair back and towards the back of the user to provide support thereto. The back support assembly also includes a gas cylinder having a retractable piston. The gas cylinder is connected between the back support of the adjustable back support assembly and an upstanding rigid chair backing within the back of the chair. When the retractable piston is forced outwardly from the gas cylinder, a linear pushing force is correspondingly generated by the piston to cause the back support to rotate away from the chair back and towards the back of the user.

A chair is disclosed including a seat and a back that is adapted to tilt back with the seat when a user of the chair leans back. A lumbar stimulation device having pairs of massage rollers is attached within the chair back to a gas cylinder bracket that extends vertically through the chair back for attachment to a chair base lying below the chair seat. A push-button actuated gas cylinder is connected to the gas cylinder bracket inside the chair back. A push-button located on one arm of the chair is connected to the gas cylinder by a cable. When the push-button is depressed, the gas cylinder is actuated to generate a pushing force for pushing the pairs of massage rollers of the lumbar stimulation device in a substantially horizontal direction through the chair back to apply a pressure against the user's back.

Piston actuated lumbar stimulation device for a chair

A multi-compartment food package is disclosed including a food bowl to hold a first food (e.g., hummus) and an independent second food container to hold a second food (e.g., a topping to be added to the first food). In one embodiment, a peel-off film is removably attached across the first food container below the top thereof. A lid is detachably connected to the first food container to surround the second food container. The lid has an annular container retaining groove formed therein and extending downwardly therefrom towards the first food container. The second food container is surrounded and frictionally engaged by the annular container retaining groove, whereby the second food container is removably attached to and suspended downwardly from the lid to be received through the top of the first food container and seated on the peel-off film located below the top thereof.

A rotatable seat cradle including a lumbar supporting back, a thigh supporting front, an intermediate pelvic support bucket located between the back and the front, and an upwardly sloping transition wall that extends continuously and co-extensively between the pelvic support bucket and the thigh supporting front. The seat cradle is pivotally coupled to a stand or to a yoke connected to a chair base. The thigh supporting front of the seat cradle lies above the pelvic support bucket and cantilevers outwardly from the upwardly sloping transition wall. A seated user shifting his weight towards the front of the seat cradle pushes his legs against the thigh supporting front to generate a rotational force thereagainst for causing a corresponding rotation of the seat cradle relative to the stand or the yoke to which the seat cradle is pivotally coupled.

A lumbar device located inside the back of a chair that tilts back and forth as a user shifts his weight in the chair. The lumbar stimulation device includes sets of back massaging rollers to apply a focused pressure and improve the circulation of blood flowing through the lower back of the user. The lumbar stimulation device is attached to a flexible strap that extends substantially vertically inside the chair had. One end of the flexible strap is affixed to the chair base below the chair seat. The opposite end of the strap is bent backwards when the chair back tilts backwards. When the user leans back, the back of the chair will be pushed downwardly with respect to the strap and the lumbar stimulation device attached to the strap to make it appear to the user that the back massaging rollers of the lumbar stimulation device are moving upwardly along his back.

A back support assembly for the back of a chair that rocks back and forth. The back of the chair includes a front that is spaced from and pivotally coupled to a rear. The front of the chair back is rotatable towards and away from the back of a user. A back support pushing arm within the back of the chair is pivotally coupled to the rear of the chair back and rotatable between a first position at which to apply a pushing force against the front of the chair back when the chair rocks forwards and a second position when the user leans back, the chair rocks backwards, and the front of the chair rotates towards the rear. A force generating strap within the chair back contacts and urges the back support pushing arm to rotate to the first position lying against the front of the chair back.

Back support assembly for the back of a chair

A dynamic lumbar support located within the back of an office or home chair to enable a user to be seated close to a work surface (e.g., a desk or a table). The chair back rocks back and forth when the user shifts his weight backwards and forwards. The dynamic lumbar support includes a cushion back support manufactured from a resilient material that is responsive to a compressive force applied thereto when the user reclines and shifts his weight against the chair back. In particular, the cushion back support is adapted to change its shape from a relaxed convex shape at which to support the user's lower back and maintain a proper posture when the user sits erect and the chair back stands upright to a compressed flattened shape at which to support the user's back when he reclines and the chair back tilts backwards.

Dynamic lumbar support for a chair

A progressively curved lumbar support located within the back of an office or home chair to enable a user to be seated close to a work surface (e.g., a desk or a table). The chair back tilts backwards and forwards when the user shifts his weight back and forth. The lumbar support includes a cushion back support manufactured from a resilient material that is responsive to a compressive force applied thereto when the user reclines against the chair back. In particular, a tilt pressure-responsive rod rides up and down over a pair of inclined guide blocks to cause the cushion back support to change its shape from a convex configuration at which to support the user's lower back and maintain a proper posture when the user sits erect and the chair back stands upright to a relatively flattened configuration when the chair back tilts backwards.

Progressively curved lumbar support for the back of a chair

A chair of the type commonly found in a home or office and having a stationary back, a pair of arms, and a rotatable seat cradle that is located between the arms. The seat cradle includes a lumbar portion lying against the stationary chair back to support the user's lower back and a seat cushion portion to support the user's pelvis. The lumbar portion and the seat cushion portion of the seat cradle are connected to one another so as to rotate together as a unit relative to the stationary back and the arms of the chair. By virtue of the foregoing, the hips and spine of the user will be continuously aligned whenever the user shifts his weight in the chair, whereby to maximize user comfort and improve user posture.

A chair assembly including a seat, a back and at least one arm that are detachably connected together without requiring the use of tools or special skill. The chair assembly can be advantageously shipped disassembled in a compact, space-efficient package to reduce shipping costs. An arm connection bracket affixed to the arm is slidably and removably received by an arm bracket receiver affixed to the seat, whereby the arm is detachably connected to the seat. A back connection bracket affixed to the back is slidably and removably received by a back bracket receiver affixed to the arm, whereby the back is detachably connected to the arm. The back bracket receiver includes a rotatable lock release lever that is adapted to rotate into and out of locking engagement with the back connection bracket after the back connection bracket slides into removable receipt by the back bracket receiver.

No-tools chair assembly

A chair assembly including a seat, a back and at least one arm that are detachably connected together without requiring the use of tools or special skill. The chair assembly can be advantageously shipped disassembled in a compact, space-efficient package to reduce shipping costs. A seat bracket affixed to the arm is slidably and removably received by a seat bracket receiver affixed to the seat, whereby the arm is detachably connected to the seat. A back bracket affixed to the back is slidably and removably received by a back bracket receiver at the arm, whereby the back is detachably connected to the arm. The back bracket includes a locking catch that is adapted to rotate into and out of locking engagement with one of a set of serrated edges from a locking plate of the back bracket receiver after the back bracket slides into removable receipt by the back bracket receiver.
