One example provides a printhead including a substrate and a fluidics structure attached to the substrate. The fluidics structure includes actuators for ejecting ink from the printhead. The printhead includes an integrated circuit die attached to the substrate. The integrated circuit die is for driving the actuators. The integrated circuit die is cooled by a coolant contacting the integrated circuit die and flowing through the substrate.

A piezoelectric inkjet die stack includes a printhead substrate die, a pedestal seated on the printhead substrate die, a fluidics die seated atop the pedestal, and integrated circuit (IC) dies seated on the printhead substrate die. The IC dies may be positioned substantially but not completely beneath the fluidics die and positioned on either side of the pedestal such that air gaps exist between a top surface of each IC die and a bottom surface of the fluidics die and between each IC die and the pedestal. The pedestal may include ink flow channels to allow ink flow between the fluidics die and the printhead substrate. A plurality of stand-offs may be implemented to help support the fluidics die above the IC dies.

An adhesive joint with an ink trap is provided. The joint may be employed in a cartridge for an inkjet printer. The cartridge includes a headland region attached to a printhead assembly by an adhesive layer. The adhesive joint between the headland region and the printhead assembly include notches for retaining additional adhesive in order to reduce degradation of adhesive due to ink penetration. A method of assembling the printer cartridge to include an ink trap in the adhesive joint is also provided.

The present invention is a replaceable ink container for use in an off-axis printing system. The printing system is responsive to electrical signals from the replaceable ink container for controlling printer parameters. The ink container has a leading edge and a trailing edge relative to the direction of insertion into the printing system. The replaceable ink container includes a plurality of electrical contacts disposed on the leading edge toward a first side. The plurality of electrical contacts are configured for engaging corresponding electrical printer contacts associated with the printing system. Also included is a fluid outlet disposed on the leading edge toward a second side opposite the first side and spaced from the plurality of electrical contacts. The fluid outlet is in fluid communication with the replaceable ink container. The fluid outlet is configured for engaging a fluid inlet associated with the printing system.

The protective device includes a base and a wall , with the wall designed to enclose a hoof of a bare or shod animal such as a horse or cow. The protective device includes a means for size adjustment such as a sizing opening in combination with a plurality of tread grooves , which assists in the adjustment of the size and shape of the hoof to fit a variety of hoofs. The protective device preferably includes a shear-relief portion formed such that the front of a hoof has minimal contact with the device . Ease of installation, decreased impact, and improved traction are all benefits provided by the protective device disclosed.

The present invention provides an inexpensive and easily produced method for refurbishing transmission pump assemblies. The method of converting a transmission pump assembly from a first configuration to a second configuration comprises the steps of: a) providing a first configuration transmission pump assembly comprising a pump body and a pump cover, wherein the pump body and the pump cover each have a plurality of fluid passageways formed between worm tracks on at least one side thereof; b) removing a portion of the worm tracks from both the pump body and the pump cover; c) providing at least one insert; d) attaching the at least one insert into a predetermined position; and e) machining the pump cover and pump body to the second configuration.

Also included is a first and second guide feature disposed on an outer surface of the replaceable ink container. The first and second guide features'are disposed and arranged to engage corresponding first and second guiding features disposed on opposite ends of the supply station to guide the replaceable ink container into the supply station to fluidically couple the fluid outlet and corresponding fluid inlet.

A closed ink replenishment system for replenishing the supply of ink in negative pressure spring-bag reservoirs in a printer/plotter. A tube runs between each cartridge reservoir and an auxiliary reservoir mounted to the printer/plotter frame to form the closed ink system. As ink is depleted from the spring-bag reservoir during printing operation, the negative pressure in the cartridge increases, drawing ink through the tube from the auxiliary reservoir into the cartridge until the negative pressure decreases to an equilibrium point. As a result, the volume of ink within the spring-bag reservoir remains substantially constant so long as there is ink remaining within the auxiliary reservoir. This maintains the print quality. The auxiliary reservoir is a flat bag mounted on a spring-biased platform, which acts as a height regulating system. As ink is depleted from the auxiliary bag, the height of the platform and bag increases to maintain a constant pressure and elevation head at the spring-bag reservoir.

The present invention is an ink container for use in an ink jet printing system. The printing system has a printhead under control of printing system electronics and an ink container receiving station for providing ink to the printhead. The replaceable ink container includes a plurality of container interfacing features positioned on the ink container to engage corresponding ink container receiving station interfacing features. The ink container interfacing features are disposed and arranged to allow a plurality of different sizes of the ink container to be installed at a particular location of the receiving station. The ink container also includes an information storage device that provides information indicative of a volume of ink contained in said ink container.

The present invention is a replaceable marking media container for use in an off-axis printing system. The printing system includes a printer portion responsive to electrical signals from the replaceable ink container for controlling printer parameters. The replaceable marking media container includes a plurality of electrical contacts with each of the plurality of electrical contacts electrically connected with a memory element. The memory element contains information for controlling printing system parameters. Included in the replaceable ink container a housing having an outer surface facing outwardly and an inner surface. The inner surface defines a cavity within the housing. The plurality of electrical contacts are attached within the cavity, so disposed and arranged, to engage corresponding electrical contacts associated with the printing system. The corresponding electrical contacts associated with the printing system are positioned within the cavity of the marking media container with proper positioning of the marking media container within the off-axis printing system. The use of these electrical contacts allow information to be exchanged between the memory element and the printer.
