Press fabric for a textured product

The present application discloses improved cellulosic products and methods of making improved cellulosic products using split base core wet press felt designs having at least a first woven base core material and a second woven base core material, wherein the first and second base core materials are separated by at least one fibrous batting material. The present application further discloses improved cellulosic products and methods of making improved cellulosic products using press felts designs having an apertured polymeric sheet-side surface.

Methods for making improved cellulosic products using novel press felts and products made therefrom

A methods, apparatus and compositions for producing colored, self-cleaning substrates by roll coating are provided. The roll coated, colored, self-cleaning substrates retain the predetermined color and a predetermined gloss of the colored coating, thereby facilitating their use in architectural applications. The roll coated, colored, self-cleaning substrates may be iridescent-free.

Self-cleaning substrates and methods for making the same

A roll-on liquid applicator having an applicator ball disposed within a dispensing chamber and a spring element with a valve head portion. The spring element effects a distally-directed force to press the valve head against the valve opening to maintain a sealing closure of the valve opening against flow of the liquid from the feed chamber into the dispensing chamber. The valve head has a ball support structure which extends distally through the valve opening to contact with the applicator ball so that when the ball is inwardly displaced by force applied thereto, the valve head moves axially inward from the closed-valve position to the open-valve position, thereby moving the valve head from the closed-valve position in contact with the valve opening toward the open-valve position which allows liquid from the feed chamber to enter the dispensing chamber.

Roll-on liquid applicator

A suck-back valve selectively actuatable for dispensing liquid in its open condition from an associated liquid storage container, and for avoiding continued presence of excess dispensed liquid about the exit orifice in the closed condition of the valve, is formed at least in part of a spring member and a pin. The spring member includes a distal web that defines a valve seat and a dispensed liquid exit orifice, a proximal web, and a plurality of flexibly elastic bands helically connecting the distal and proximal webs. The pin includes an elongated shaft having a proximal end secured to the proximal web and carrying a substantially hollow frustoconical cone at its distal end. The cone has an outer valving surface for releasable abutment with the valve seat and the shaft has a bore of predetermined cross-sectional extent defined longitudinally along and within the shaft to create a continuous fluid passageway through and along the pin. Dispensed liquid remaining proximate the exit orifice is sucked back into the liquid container through the shaft bore as the valve returns from its open to its closed condition under the return urgency of the elastic bands.

A stored liquid dispensing applicator includes a valving arrangement formed of a valve seat and a spring-driven shuttle that is disposed for axial displacement into and out of valve-defining abutment and engagement with the valve seat. The shuttle is displaceable between distal and proximal limits of travel that include a first position defining the distal limit and a second position proximally spaced from the distal limit and distally spaced from the proximal limit. The valve seat is arranged for contact with the shuttle uninterruptedly between the first and second positions to close the valve, and for spaced apart relation with the shuttle between the second position and the proximal limit of travel to open the valve for dispensing of stored liquid.

Leak-resistant liquid applicator

A supercharger cooling system provides a path for coolant from an air/coolant heat exchanger to a supercharger intercooler and then loops around the supercharger housing proximal to a hot outlet end of the supercharger and back to the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger may be a dedicated air/coolant heat exchanger or be a vehicle radiator. The intercooler is sandwiched between the supercharger and intake manifold and cools the flow of hot compressed air from the supercharger into the intake manifold. The supercharger cooling loop cools the bearings and seals, the forward ends of the male and female rotors, and the male and female rotor gears. The cooling loop is preferably located between the supercharger rotors and the rotor drive gears to form a barrier to heat. A dedicated pump cycles the coolant flow and restrictions control the flow of coolant to the supercharger.

Supercharger cooling

A supercharger cooling system provides a path for coolant from an air/coolant heat exchanger to a supercharger intercooler and loops around a hot outlet end of a screw type supercharger and back to the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger may be a dedicated air/coolant heat exchanger or be a vehicle radiator. The intercooler is sandwiched between the supercharger and intake manifold and cools the flow of hot compressed air from the supercharger into the intake manifold. The supercharger cooling loop circles the front rotor bearings thereby cooling the bearings and seals, the forward ends of the male and female rotors, and the male and female rotor gears. The cooling loop is preferably located in the outlet end wall between the supercharger rotors and the rotor drive gears to form a barrier to heat. A dedicated pump cycles the coolant flow and restrictions control the flow of coolant to the supercharger.

A pressure equalization system reduces or eliminates a pressure differential across supercharger rotor shaft seals. Under high boost, rotor shaft seals often fail, allowing hot compressed air into an oil lubricated space containing rotor bearings and gears (and vented to ambient pressure), reducing oil lubricating effectiveness and resulting in increased wear and failure. Under low or non boost operation, the pressure differential is reversed causing the lubricating oil to leak into the supercharger interior and accelerated rotor seal wear. The pressure equalization system includes flow restrictive seals on both rotor shafts, separated from the rotor shaft seals by vented spaces, thereby isolating the rotor shaft seals from boost or vacuum in the supercharger interior and reducing or eliminating the pressure differential across the rotor shaft seals. Maintaining close to atmospheric pressure on both sides of the rotor shaft seals during boost and vacuum operation reduces wear and failures.

Supercharger rotor shaft seal pressure equalization

A screw compressor type supercharger includes an improved supercharger bypass valve including a spring biasing the bypass valve towards an open position. The spring may be a compression spring integrated into a bypass valve diaphragm, an extension spring extending parallel to a diaphragm arm, or a torsion spring on a bypass valve butterfly shaft. The spring is selected and installed to hold the bypass valve open at all vacuum levels and at up to one PSI of boost, and then to allow the bypass to close between one PSI and six PSI boost, and to be closed at above six PSI boost. The resulting control of the bypass valve prevents damage to the supercharger.

Insulated electrical cables which are suitable for use in gasoline fuel tanks comprise a stranded conductor which is blocked by a polysulfide and is covered by polyamide insulation.

Fuel resistant cables

A tool for use in aligning a vehicle door. A vehicle typically has a door lock assembly which receives a lock pin on the door frame, or similar article, to secure the vehicle door in a closed position. The tool of the present invention has a comparable lock pin toward one end which can be 'locked' into the vehicle lock assembly and, at an opposed end, a portion for engaging the vehicle door frame lock pin. The lock pin engaging portion is structured so that, at least, the door and the door frame are horizontally fixed in a desired ajar relationship. This frees both hands of the tool user to make the desired door adjustment. The tool of the preferred embodiment is used with a standard breaker bar, with extension if necessary.
