Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) receiving a first transmission scheduling resources for a second transmission having a first priority. The UE may determine that one or more symbols of the second transmission are to be unused due to receipt of a cancellation indication or due to identifying a conflict, for example, with higher priority resources. Based on determining that the symbols are to be unused, the UE may determine that the base station will not reschedule the unused resources for another transmission, for example, having the first priority. The UE and the base station may communicate based on the determination.

Scheduling restrictions for canceled or conflicting resources

Aspects described herein relate to configuring devices with multiple uplink grants, where the devices may be able to determine whether to interrupt communications of one uplink grant for communications of another uplink grant.

Techniques for handling collision in scheduled wireless communications

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may perform, to a first base station and via a first radio frequency (RF) chain associated with a first subscription, a first uplink transmission based at least in part on one or more of an uplink carrier aggregation capability of the UE or an uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) capability of the UE. The UE may perform, to the first base station or to a second base station, and via a second RF chain associated with a second subscription and configured to operate simultaneously with the first RF chain, a second uplink transmission based at least in part on one or more of the uplink carrier aggregation capability of the UE or the uplink MIMO capability of the UE. Simultaneous uplink transmissions associated with multiple subscriptions

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus where a user equipment (UE) may indicate different physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring capabilities (such as UE capabilities in terms of the number of control channel elements (CCEs), blind decodes (BDs), number of downlink control information (DCI) formats, etc.) per monitoring span or slot. For example, a UE may support a different number of CCEs per slot or a different number of DCIs per monitoring span for different service types (such as a different number of CCEs for enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and for ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC)). A UE may indicate different sets of PDCCH monitoring capabilities (such as sets of PDCCH monitoring capabilities for different service types, monitoring spans, slots, etc.). A base station may receive the indication of UE PDCCH monitoring capability information and may configure the UE with one or more monitoring occasions accordingly.

Control channel monitoring capability for low latency communications

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a mobile station may receive an indication of whether a first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) communication is to be punctured in a set of resources in which a second PDSCH communication at least partially overlaps with the first PDSCH communication, or both the first PDSCH communication and the second PDSCH communication are to be transmitted in the set of resources. The mobile station may decode the first PDSCH communication based at least in part on the indication. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Reception of overlapping physical downlink shared channel communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently limiting a number of blind decoding attempts or control channel elements (CCEs) that a user equipment (UE) is configured to monitor to limit complexity at the UE. When a UE is configured to use blind decoding for monitoring CCEs in multiple spans in a slot for control information from a base station, the UE may be configured to perform dropping of blind decoding candidates or CCEs in a first temporal span in the slot. In other words, the UE may identify a dropping rule to drop CCE monitoring occasions or blind decoding attempts in excess of a maximum number of non-overlapping CCEs per span or a maximum number of blind decoding attempts per span, respectively, and the UE may apply the dropping rule to the first temporal span within the slot.

Relaxed control channel element and blind decoding overbooking and dropping for new radio ultra-reliable low-latency communications

Out-of-order communication management

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus that may be used to perform joint spatial processing for space frequency block coding and/or non-space frequency block coding channels in a wireless communications system. In aspects, apparatus and methods are provided for wireless communications, comprising receiving a signal from a serving cell and zero or more interfering cells, and processing the received signal, wherein the processing includes joint processing of at least two Resource Elements (REs), selected to conform to a Space Frequency Block Coding (SFBC) scheme in which transmitted data is modulated across two REs, to detect an interfering cell signal and canceling of the detected interfering cell signal from the received signal.

Joint spatial processing for space frequency block coding and/or non space frequency block coding channels

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques and apparatus for performing joint demodulation using a Max-Log MAP algorithm in wireless communications systems. An exemplary method generally comprises receiving a signal comprising one or more serving streams and one or more interfering streams; and processing the signal by performing joint demodulation using a max log map (MLM) algorithm for at least one of the one or more serving streams or at least one of the one or more interfering streams.

Methods and apparatus for joint demodulation with max-log MAP (MLM)

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for generating likely demodulation candidates using Vector Candidate Sampling (VCS). VCS is used to generate high likelihood candidates for Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) demodulation that approaches optimal maximum a posteriori (MAP) performance with reasonable complexity. A receive data vector is recorded corresponding to a signal received at a MIMO receiver. A plurality of likely candidates are determined for MIMO demodulation via VCS, based at least on the receive data vector. Determining the likely candidates may include perturbing the receive data vector for each candidate based on a pre-determined perturb vector, and estimating a corresponding transmit data vector based at least on the perturbed receive data vector for the candidate and an estimator matrix, wherein the likely candidate comprises the estimated data vector.

Methods and apparatus for generating demodulation candidates using vector candidate sampling (VCS)

Wireless receiver circuits and methods include algorithms for switching between a least-squares/minimum mean-square error method of channel estimation known as the CE algorithm, and a continuous plot method of channel estimation known as the CPCE algorithm based upon channel characteristics to improve reception of wireless communications in different reception conditions. In an embodiment, the CPCE algorithm may be selected by a processor for use in channel estimation when a calculated number of candidate paths is less than or equal to a first threshold value, a calculated power ratio of the L strongest paths to the total of all paths is greater than or equal to a second threshold value, and the maximum Automatic Gain Control variation is greater than or equal to a third threshold value. Threshold values may be based on field testing, and set to values at which the CE or CPCE algorithm exhibits better performance.

Methods and systems for improved channel estimation in multi-carrier systems

Techniques for deriving a channel estimate using a scattered pilot and a continual pilot are described. The scattered pilot is sent on different sets of carriers in different symbol periods. The continual pilot is sent in each symbol period on irregularly spaced carriers. The scattered pilot is used to identify the indices of channel taps of interest, e.g., L strongest channel taps. The continual pilot is used to determine the complex gains of these L channel taps. A receiver derives a channel impulse response estimate based on received pilot symbols for the scattered pilot, identifies the L strongest channel taps, and determines the indices of these L strongest channel taps. The receiver forms a Fourier sub-matrix based on the L tap indices and determines the gains of the L channel taps based on received pilot symbols for the continual pilot and the Fourier sub-matrix.

Channel estimation for multi-carrier communication

Techniques for detecting and suppressing jammers are described. A receiver may perform post-FFT jammer detection and pre-FFT jammer suppression. The receiver may transform an input signal to obtain a frequency-domain signal and may detect for jammers in the input signal based on the frequency-domain signal. The receiver may determine powers of a plurality of carriers based on the frequency-domain signal and may detect for jammers based on peaks in the powers of these carriers. The receiver may filter the input signal (e.g., with a notch filter) to suppress the detected jammers. Alternatively or additionally, the receiver may perform post-FFT jammer detection and post-FFT jammer suppression. The receiver may determine whether jammer is present on each carrier based on data power and channel power for that carrier. The receiver may modify (e.g., zero out or reduce) the frequency-domain signal on carriers with detected jammers.
