Processes for making polyesters in a polyester production facility are disclosed, that include the steps of: forming a reaction medium comprising at least one monomer that includes terephthalic acid (TPA) and/or an ester derivative of TPA; subjecting at least a portion of the reaction medium to one or more chemical reactions in the polyester production facility to thereby produce the polyester; heating at least a portion of the reaction medium via indirect heat exchange with high-pressure steam, wherein the heating causes at least a portion of the high-pressure steam to condense and thereby provide pressurized condensed water; flashing at least a portion of the pressurized condensed water to thereby produce lower-pressure steam; and heating one or more process fluid streams of the polyester production facility via indirect heat exchange with at least a portion of the lower-pressure steam, wherein the process fluid streams include any stream that is formed predominately of the reaction medium and/or the at least one monomer.

Integrated steam heating in polyester production process

Integrated processes for making polyesters are disclosed, that include the steps of: (a) producing an aromatic polycarboxylic acid in a monomer production facility; (b) producing a polyester in a polyester production facility, wherein the producing of the polyester comprises the substeps of: (i) forming a polyester reaction medium comprising at least a portion of the aromatic polycarboxylic acid from the monomer production facility, (ii) subjecting at least a portion of the polyester reaction medium to one or more chemical reactions to thereby produce the polyester, (iii) heating the polyester reaction medium at one or more locations in the polyester production facility via indirect heat exchange with high-pressure steam, wherein the heating causes at least a portion of the high-pressure steam to condense and thereby provide pressurized condensed water, and (iv) flashing at least a portion of the pressurized condensed water to thereby produce lower-pressure steam; and (c) using at least a portion of the lower-pressure steam to provide thermal energy to the monomer production facility.

Processes for making polyesters in a polyester production facility are disclosed, that include the steps of forming a reaction medium comprising at least one monomer that includes terephthalic acid (TPA) and/or an ester derivative of TPA; subjecting at least a portion of the reaction medium to one or more chemical reactions in the polymer production facility to thereby produce the polyester; and heating the reaction medium at one or more locations in the polyester production facility, wherein at least 50 percent of the total energy input employed for the heating of the reaction medium is provided by indirect heat exchange between the reaction medium and steam.

Steam heated polyester production process

Processes for making polyesters in a polyester production facility are disclosed, that include the steps of: forming a reaction medium comprising at least one monomer that includes terephthalic acid (TPA) and/or an ester derivative of TPA; subjecting at least a portion of the reaction medium to one or more chemical reactions in the polyester production facility to thereby produce the polyester; generating high-pressure steam having a pressure of at least 5 megapascals; heating one or more process fluid streams of the polyester production facility by indirect heat exchange with the high-pressure steam, wherein the process fluid streams include any stream that is formed predominately of the reaction medium and/or the at least one monomer; heating a heat transfer medium (HTM) via indirect heat exchange with the high-pressure steam to thereby form heated HTM; and heating at least a portion of the process fluid streams by indirect heat exchange with the heated HTM.

A dialysis procedure catheter for accurately facilitating insertion of a needle into a dialysis patient's body. The dialysis procedure catheter includes a tubular member having a bore being disposed therethrough, and also having an enlarged main portion and a branch portion, and further having a needle; and also includes a plug assembly including a plug member being removably disposed in the bore of the needle; and further includes a handle being attached to the enlarged main portion of the tubular member; and also includes a hose having a first end being attached to the branch portion; and further includes a hose clamp for crimping the hose; and also includes a hose connector being attached to a second end of the hose for connecting to a dialysis machine.

Dialysis procedure catheter

A bullnose corner bead shear for making internal angle corner cuts to bullnose corner bead. The device includes a first cutting head having a first cutting member and a second cutting member, the first cutting member further comprising a cutting blade having a linear cutting edge portion and a curvilinear cutting edge portion, the second cutting member further comprising a cutting blade having a linear cutting edge portion and a curvilinear cutting edge portion, the first and second cutting member cutting blade curvilinear edge portions being contoured in such manner that they extend in a first direction distal of a line of the corresponding linear cutting edge portion and a second direction perpendicular to a plane of the corresponding cutting member, a handle assembly having a first handle and a second handle, the first handle being attachable to a first cutting member leg and the second handle being attachable to a second cutting member leg, and a pivot pin for pivotally attaching the first cutting member and the second cutting member such that when the first handle and the second handle are biased toward each other the first cutting member cutting blade cuttably engages the second cutting member cutting blade.

Bullnose corner bead shear

An inflatable pneumatic plug useful for expediting the hydrostatic testing of bathtub and water plumbing installations. The pneumatic plug has a semi-rigid handle tube with an air valve at one end and an inflatable tube attached to its opposite end. The inflatable tube and the handle are of sufficiently small diameter to pass through the overflow drain in the bathtub, past the drain stopper assembly and into the drain trap without disassembly of the plumbing. The inflatable tube, such as a latex tube, is chosen with a length and wall thickness such that the inflatable tube is relatively stiff and will tend to deflect laterally around a solid obstacle when advanced into the plumbing rather than flattening axially. The inflatable tube is inflatable to a diameter at least five times greater than its deflated diameter for making a water-tight seal in a plumbing conduit.

Pneumatic plug and method for hydrostatic testing of bathtub plumbing

A water ski aid for supporting a water skier includes an inflatable seat member. A pair of inflatable arms is used to secure the skier to the inflatable seat member. The free ends of the arms overlap the body of the skier when in a secure position in the seat member. The arms separate when the skier gains sufficient speed to overcome the drag of the inflatable seat member.
