A method for determining a subject's orientation includes receiving, at an imaging system, an input that indicates an orientation of a subject being imaged, automatically determining the orientation of the subject using a feature recognition system, comparing the received input to the automatically determined orientation, and generating an image, the image including orientation indicia based on the comparison. An object orientation recognition system and an imaging system are also described herein.

Method and apparatus for determining a subjects orientation

A system and method for translating a patient table is described. The described patient table includes a linearly translatable portion, a drive screw assembly, a power transmission assembly, and a drive train. The translatable portion is configured to be positioned in a plurality of selectable positions between a fully inserted position and a fully extracted position. The drive screw assembly includes a drive nut and a screw member. The drive nut is fixedly coupled to the translatable portion of the patient table and threadily engaged to the screw member. The screw member is drivingly coupled to the power transmission assembly. The drive train is configured to drive the translatable portion of the patient table at a predetermined insertion force in the insertion direction, and a predetermined extraction force in the extraction direction. The predetermined extraction force is greater than the predetermined insertion force.

System and method for translating medical imaging system patient tables

Systems, methods and apparatus are provided through which in some embodiments, a wrap-around capture device of an X-ray collimator frame limits movement of an X-ray tube mounting bracket away from the X-ray collimator. In some embodiments, a C-shaped passive capture device is attached or mounted on the wrap-around capture device, having a portion that is positioned in between the wrap-around capture device and the X-ray collimator frame, which further limits movement of the X-ray tube mounting bracket.
