A cover assembly for bridging an opening located in an expansion joint between two spaced-apart structural members. The cover assembly includes a coverplate having a rigid plate member that is engaged with a resilient elastomeric cover. The cover assembly is affixed to the underlying structural members by base members. The proper positioning of the cover assembly within the expansion joint gap is maintained through a positioning assembly that is engaged with the coverplate and base members.

Cover assembly for structural members

A cover plate system for a gap () between two structural members () is provided. The system includes an elongated cover () that extends across the gap () from a first structural member () to a second, spaced-apart structural member (). The cover plate system further includes damped spring anchors () for engaging the cover plate () to an underlying structural member () and dampers () for absorbing energy imparted to the cover plate () by vehicular traffic. The cover plate system minimizes the strain energy that is absorbed by the cover plate (), which results in less cover plate slapping and bouncing during operation.

Expansion joint system

An expansion joint sealing system may be used to provide a continuous and seamless waterproof membrane across a gap in an expansion joint. The expansion joint sealing system includes sealing members that are provided with a keyway for accepting and interlocking a coating membrane. Also disclosed are an expansion joint including spaced apart structural members and the sealing system and a method for sealing a gap between two spaced apart structural members.

An insulated composite material for structural reinforcement applications is provided. The insulated composite material includes a fiber reinforced composite material and a cementitious insulating layer applied over the composite material. Also provided is a structural member reinforced with the insulated composite material and a method of reinforcing a structural member with the insulated composite material.
