Heart failure monitor quicklook summary for patient management systems

A care provider is able to remotely program a pacemaker, drug pump, neurostimulation device or other an implantable medical device (IMD) by operating a browser application communicating with a server. Following successful authentication to the server, the care provider's browser receives information about one or more operating parameters of the IMD from the server. The care provider provides an instruction from the browser application to the server to modify one or more operating parameters. The server formats a digital program request from the instruction that includes a digital signature or other identification code uniquely identifying the server. The digital program request is then forwarded to the IMD via a remote monitor (IRM) for subsequent verification of the digital identification code and wireless transmission the verified digital program request from the IRM to the IMD.

The present invention provides a method and apparatus for remotely programming implantable medical devices. The apparatus includes a server adapted to receive and store at least one request to modify the behavior of an implantable medical device provided by a programmer adapted to allow a clinician to create the at least one request at a first selected time. The apparatus further includes a monitor adapted to receive the requests from the server and transmit the requests to the implantable medical device at a second selected time and a bi-directional communications system adapted to couple the server and the monitor.

System and method for displaying implantable medical device data

A system is described for allowing medical data obtained at a local site to be transferred to a data processing system located at a remote site. This medical data may include video data and/or data obtained from one or more medical devices such as a fluoroscopy device or an electrocardiograph (ECG) signal monitoring device. The data may be viewed on one or more display windows of the remote data processing system to allow a remotely-located expert to participate in an examination or medical procedure being conducted at the local site. In one embodiment, the remote data processing system also receives screen data from an implantable medical device programmer that is located at the local site. This screen data may include data associated with the configuration of the programmer, the configuration of an implantable medical device, and other information obtained from a patient such as physiological waveforms. Routing of all data may be performed by a communication hub operating as a stand alone device. Alternatively, the data routing function may be implemented on the programmer.

System and method for providing remote expert communications and video capabilities for use during a medical procedure

A system and method for efficiently and relatively inexpensively providing a capability of translating &ldquo;Patient Session Information&rdquo; comprising IMD data and patient data stored in IMD memory in one human language and optionally other patient data from other sources into another human language. The local language translation is effected by first employing an Extensible Mark-up Language (XML) converter for converting Patient Session Information from an initial format, such as a memory dump format, ASCII format, a waveform format, a numeric format, or a binary format, to an XML format, thereby providing XML formatted Patient Session Information. Then, the XML formatted Patient Session Information is subjected to transformation by a human language specific Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) stylesheet into XSL transformed Patient Session Information. The XSL stylesheet effects translation of the XML formatted Patient Session Information into a language understandable to the user in an HTML format or another XML format or another suitable format, e.g., PDF or SVG graphic image formats. The XSL transformed Patient Session Information is thereby rendered understandable to the user that selects the human language when the translated Patient Session Information is delivered as by visual display or print-out or audible presentation or storage depending upon a selection of the user. The translated Patient Session Information can be stored in the programmer memory or in the IMD memory or transferred or exported to another device or system interconnected with the programmer including a remote server accessed through the Internet.

Human language translation of patient session information from implantable medical devices

A graphical user interface is provided controllably displaying information retrieved from an implantable device, such as a pacemaker. The graphical user interface is comprised of a first and second window. The first window is adapted to display data identifying a plurality of episodes recorded by the implantable device, wherein the data is comprised of a plurality of fields. One of the fields may be used to identify a type of episode, such as ventricular tachycardia (VT), atrial and ventricular tachycardia (A&V), atrial fibrillation (AF), atrial flutter (Afl), atrial tachycardia (AT), and premature atrial contraction (PAC). The second window is adapted to display data types, such as VT, A&V, AF, Afl, AT, and PAC, that may be present in the plurality of fields, wherein at least one of the data types may be selected to filter the episodes displayed in the first window and display those episodes having the selected data types.

Method and apparatus for displaying information retrieved from an implanted medical device

A communication system is provided which permits of communication between an deployed implantable medical device (IMD) and a computing resource capable of storing and distributing patient and device data. A deployed IMD may be polled by a network interface external to the host patient, and data may be received by wireless communication. This data may be transmitted to a computer for storage and distribution, and changes to a treatment or instruction regimen, or firmware or software upgrades, may then be transmitted to the network interface for immediate or eventual loading into the IMD via wireless communication. The system is adapted to provide communication service between multiple IMDs deployed in a patient or a number of patients.

The present invention discloses a method of and a system for transferring information from an implantable medical device to a remote location. The system includes a first extensible mark-up language converter for converting information related to the implantable medical device from an initial format to an extensible mark-up language format. A programmer is electrically connected to the implantable medical device and is capable of temporarily saving selected information related to the implantable medical device and capable of transferring the selected information to a remote location. A second extensible mark-up language converter located at the remote location is connected to the programmer and converts the selected information from the extensible mark-up language format to a final format. The selected information can then be manipulated at the remote location.

System and method for transferring information relating to an implantable medical device to a remote location

A hand-held automotive sound replicator having a case provided with a keyboard, a speaker and a power switch. The case houses a microprocessor responsive to a key input signal from the keyboard for providing data indicative of the key input signal for accessing a programmable read only memory via a random access memory. The programmable read only memory provides program and sound files to be stored in a microprocessor via the random access memory and through a controller. The microprocessor outputs digital sound signals to a digital-to-analog convertor, which provides an analog signal to a sound generator. The output from the sound generator is regulated by a volume control through an amplifier to the speaker.
