The present invention relates to stretchable webs having a plurality of elongated cells, and a retractive force mechanism to provide increased retractive force of the web when stretched in a given direction. The stretchable webs are useful in disposable garments such as diapers, bandages and other hygiene material so that the material fits closely without slipping off.

Stretchable web

A method for manufacturing composite webs and composite webs made thereby in which the web includes a perforated thermoplastic film and one or more nonwoven webs. The method provides a perforated thermoplastic film, a creped nonwoven web, the webs are fed in a face to face relationship to be bonded. The perforated thermoplastic film and the creped nonwoven web are bonded in a face to face relationship at a plurality of points of contact such that the creped structure of the nonwoven web is maintained and the composite web has a nonwoven face and a film face. The composite webs are extensible at least in the direction of the creping.

An article having a top sheet, a core layer and, optionally, a barrier layer is configured to provide storage and metered release of a highly viscous fluid to a target surface. The core layer contains an array of three dimensional voids, which may be opened (i.e., apertured) or closed, that are configured to receive and store the fluid, and is formed of a material that is non-absorbent with respect to the fluid.

An improved release sheet for use in connection with a sanitary catamenial pad is disclosed. The improved release sheet exhibits superior noise, drape, bulk and gloss characteristics due to its method of production. A polyethylenic release material containing silicone capable of being fixed within the surface of the release material is coextruded with at least a base film to provide a film which is also embossed to provide a combination pouch and release sheet with superior physical characteristics. Corona treatment of the release material layer preferably occurs following embossing, but can occur prior to embossing or both prior to and following embossing to fix the silicone within the surface of the release material. In-line recycling of materials provides additional cost advantages.

Combination pouch and release sheet and method for producing same

A deep embossed thermoplastic film is disclosed. The film includes a plurality of macro cells. The macro cells are interconnected by lands extending between adjacent macro cells. The film also includes at least one plurality of micro depressions, whereby a pleasing appearance and a proper feel are imparted.
