A transaction device is described. The device comprises storage configured to store a first data record comprising first value data and a unique identifier associated with one other device; communications circuitry configured to receive an identifier and second value data from a device; and control circuitry configured to compare the received identifier with the unique identifier and in the event of a positive comparison, the control circuitry is further configured to update the stored first value data in accordance with the exchanged second value data.

Transaction device, computer program and transaction method

A method and system for processing a financial transaction initiated by a cardholder with a merchant. The cardholder initiates the transaction using a cardholder input device and transmits an authorization request message including transaction data received by the cardholder input device from a point of sale (POS) device associated with the merchant. The authorization request message is received by a computer system. The transaction data is validated, and an authorization response message is transmitted after validation. The cardholder input device may forward the authorization response message to the POS device for completing the transaction.

Methods and systems for initiating a financial transaction by a cardholder device

At a terminal assembly associated with a physical access point, payment device data is obtained from a reduced-functionality payment device, and the data is identified as emanating from such a device. In response, the payment device data emanating from the reduced-functionality payment device is converted into an authorization request or an access request, of a format consistent with full-functionality payment devices. A method and system for a photo ID payment card transaction verification system for use with a payment card interchange network is provided. The system is programmed to receive a photo of a cardholder, the photo verified to be of the cardholder, assign a unique photo identifier to the photo, the unique photo identifier associated with the cardholder's payment card account, receive payment card transaction information for a payment cardholder from the interchange network, the interchange network configured to process payment card transactions between a merchant through a merchant bank and a cardholder through an issuer bank, the payment card transaction information including data relating to a purchase of goods or services made by the cardholder at a merchant, and transmit at least one of the photo and an access to the photo to the merchant with an authorization request response during a payment card transaction.
