Systems and methods for configuration for contextual response to motion-based events are disclosed. For example, a predefined event may be detected. The system may determine that a subject associated with the event is of a given type of subjects and may determine whether another person is present in the environment associated with the event to assist in providing aid. The presence of the other person may be detected, a type of the other person may be performed, and a notification may be output on a second device associated with the other person based on the type. The system may track when the other person reach an area associated with the event and may cause the first device to perform an action to assist the other person in providing aid.

Contextual response to motion-based event

Systems and methods for selectively ignoring an occurrence of a wakeword within audio input data is provided herein. In some embodiments, a wakeword may be detected to have been uttered by an individual within a modified time window, which may account for hardware delays and echoing offsets. The detected wakeword that occurs during this modified time window may, in some embodiments, correspond to a word included within audio that is outputted by a voice activated electronic device. This may cause the voice activated electronic device to activate itself, stopping the audio from being outputted. By identifying when these occurrences of the wakeword within outputted audio are going to happen, the voice activated electronic device may selectively determine when to ignore the wakeword, and furthermore, when not to ignore the wakeword.

Methods and devices for selectively ignoring captured audio data

A system may use multiple speech interface devices to interact with a user by speech. All or a portion of the speech interface devices may detect a user utterance and may initiate speech processing to determine a meaning or intent of the utterance. Within the speech processing, arbitration is employed to select one of the multiple speech interface devices to respond to the user utterance. Arbitration may be based in part on metadata that directly or indirectly indicates the proximity of the user to the devices, and the device that is deemed to be nearest the user may be selected to respond to the user utterance.

Device selection for providing a response

An electronic workspace may be created from multiple viewer devices. The viewer devices are coordinated so that each exhibits a different visual identification characteristic such as a distinct or unique color. Content can be assigned by way of a user interface in which individual viewer devices are represented by visual icons that exhibit the same visual identification characteristics as the respective viewer devices, so that a user may easily distinguish between the available viewer devices.

Device differentiation for electronic workspaces

Described herein are systems and methods for maintaining a wireless connection to a remote server while a device is in a low power mode. As a result of maintaining the connection, the device can receive messages triggering a wakeup event and placing the device in a normal power mode, enabling the device to be controlled remotely. To maintain the connection, the device transitions from sending encrypted network messages to a server from a first interval while in the normal power mode to a second interval while in the low power mode. In addition, the device sends unencrypted network messages to the server at the first interval using low power circuitry. The low power circuitry receives messages from the server and may trigger the device to enter the normal power mode and/or a connection maintenance mode.

Power efficient wireless connectivity

A method and apparatus for synchronizing media content emitted from various sources is presented. Arrival timing of outputs from the various sources to a particular location is determined and adjusted to reduce synchronization delays at the particular location. Synchronization delays may be determined by detecting the media output from a combination of sources arriving at the location. Control messages are generated by processing the detected output and determining delays to be applied to corresponding sources.

Dynamic audio synchronization

A method and system for illustrating textual content is provided. The method may include identifying textual content to be illustrated, finding at least one illustration corresponding to the context associated with the textual content, and presenting a graphical story combining the textual content with the found illustration to a user.
