Monitoring current draw of an actuator associated with a rotating arm on a round baler during a net wrapping cycle is used to determine the position of the rotating arm and actuator, as well as to determine the net tension. The current draw of the actuator may be correlated with the home and insert positions of the rotating arm during the net wrapping cycle; thus by monitoring the current draw, the rotating arm and actuator position is determined and may be provided to aid an operator. The net tension during the net wrapping cycle is a function of the rotating arm and actuator current. A calculation of net tension is determined and provided to an operator, allowing the operator to verify performance issues related to the net tension.

Current sensing of actuators on a round baler

The disclosure relates to a system for maintaining proper tension in the one or more fluidly movable belts during the tailgate closing process of a baling cycle. Sensors are used to obtain position data of the bale density system and tailgate system. This information is used by a controller, which then calculates if an adjustment to the speed of the tailgate is necessary to maintain proper tension in the movable belts.

An improved belt guide system has individual guide sleeves mounted on one or more of the guide rolls, one sleeve for each belt, in an agricultural round baler. Each sleeve encircles the roll surface of the guide roll and is positioned between the belt and the guide roll surface in a manner allowing relative rotational movement between the sleeve and the guide roll. Each guide sleeve is thus allowed to match the peripheral speed of the respective belt as it passes over the guide roll and allow slippage to occur between the guide roll surface and the inner circumference of the guide sleeve. Flanges extending radially outwardly on each sleeve end maintain the sleeve alignment with the respective belt.

An automated bale wrapping control system for a round baler that includes a simplified remotely installable operator interface for installation on a tractor. The simplified operator interface includes manual operated, mechanical input switches for selecting system on/off, number of wraps, twine or net wrapper selection, manual extension/retraction of the wrapping mechanism, and/or manual wrap cycle initiation. An audible alarm provides feedback to the operator for monitoring the baling and wrapping processes and for alerting the operator to abnormal conditions in the baling and/or wrapping processes.

Fully automated twine wrapping system for a round baler having a simplified operator interface

A round bale wrapping mechanism that employs a second roll of wrapping material that is mounted adjacent an active roll. The second roll is powered by an electric clutch that allows a belt drive connected between the first roll and the second roll to rotate the second roll of wrapping material. The wrapping material on the second roll thus feeds onto the wrapping material being fed from the active roll and if fed through the wrapping mechanism onto the bale before the active roll is exhausted of wrapping material.

A mechanism for manually and automatically adjusting the front support drum of an endless conveyor within the feederhouse of an agricultural combine. The front drum is rotatably affixed to the remote end of a pivot arm that is pivotably affixed to the side sheet of the feederhouse. The relative position of the drum to the floor of the feederhouse is manually adjustable by manipulation of a cam that moves the pivot arm toward and away from the floor to preset positions. In combination with the adjustment mechanism, is a pivot mounting for the pivot arm that allows the drum to move upwardly and rearwardly when a bulk or lump of crop material enters the opening between the drum and the floor, thereby preventing damage to the components of the feederhouse.
