An electronic switch includes a substrate and a rotator assembly. The rotator assembly is configured to prevent rotation between a first rotational configuration and a second rotational configuration in a first translational position of the rotator assembly, while the rotator assembly is configured to rotate between the first rotational configuration and the second rotational configuration in a second translational position of the rotator assembly. The second translational position of the rotator assembly is translationally offset from the first translational position of the rotator assembly. An electrical contact of the rotator assembly is configured to electrically connect an electronic input path of the substrate to an electronic output path of the substrate in the first rotational configuration and first translational position of the rotator assembly, but not to electrically connect the electronic input path to the electronic output path in the second rotational configuration of the rotator assembly or in the second translational position of the rotator assembly.

A flexible resistive tip cable assembly includes a probe Radio Frequency (RF) connector structured to receive a RF differential signal and a testing connection assembly. A coaxial cable is structured to conduct the RF differential signal between the probe RF connector and the testing connection assembly. The coaxial cable includes a cable for conducting the differential signal, and a plurality of magnetic elements positioned along a length of the cable and structured to isolate the differential signal from common mode interference. The magnetic elements are separated from adjacent magnetic elements by a gap with elastomeric elements is positioned in each gap to provide cable flexibility. The assembly may also include an Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) loaded with an attenuation associated with the flexible resistive tip cable assembly for use in signal testing by a device coupled to the testing connection assembly.

A differential pin to RF adaptor includes a center conductor contact with an RF connector on one end and a signal contact on the other end. An insulating sleeve surrounds the central contact. A reference contact surrounds the insulating sleeve. The signal pin of the differential pair interfaces with the center conductor contact of the RF connector. The adaptor is structured to slide down over a pair of pins/leads so that the reference contact abuts a circuit board attached to the pins. The pins/leads are shielded all the way to the circuit board, which shields/isolates the pins from common mode and other types of interference. The adaptor maintains the shape of the signal pin and the reference pin during testing. The adaptor maintains a fixed impedance of the pins, which reduces or eliminates uncontrolled impedance and hence preserves system frequency response and reduces/eliminates erroneous ripple currents.

An electrostatic discharge (ESD) limiting device for a coaxial transmission line can include an outer housing or shielding, a ground portion positioned within the outer housing, a center pin positioned within the ground portion, and a beam lead device&#x2014;such as a Schottky diode or other diode&#x2014;positioned between the ground portion and the center pin and electrically coupled between the ground portion and the center pin. The ESD limiting device may also include one or more spring members mounted on the ground portion to provide elasticity to the device to maintain signal transmission and grounding within the coaxial transmission line.

An electromechanical microswitch, comprising first and second electromagnets mounted in spaced-apart orientation to one another where each electromagnetic has a field center located a first distance above the mounting surface. A permanent magnet is positioned between the electromagnets and includes a magnetic field center that is higher above the mounting surface than that of the electromagnets so that the permanent magnet is magnetically biased toward the mounting surface. A stripline switch element is mountable between the permanent magnet and mounting surface, and biased against circuit structures on the mounting surface, whereby the stripline switch element moves between first and second activated positions under influence of the electromagnets.

A system can include a first radio frequency (RF) port, a second RF port electrically coupled with the first RF port, a direct current (DC) port, and a bias tee incorporated into a substrate. The bias tee can include multiple capacitors that are each integrated as a catch pad with a layer of the substrate. The bias tee can also include an inductor at least partially integrated with a layer of the substrate.

The mechanism for inserting, extracting, sensing and locking a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) in an electronic system provides both easier use and a longer service life for the PCBA as compared to a mechanism having two locking handles. Insertion, extraction, sensing and locking are simplified because a single handle can be used rather than two handles. The service life of the associated PCBA is extended because the forces applied to the PCBA are synchronous and applied more evenly than a PCBA having two handles, which reduces bending and other forces that can cause component failure.

An aircraft headset includes a headset band, including a head element and a pair of ear cup supports slidably received in the head element, ear cups pivotally attached at one end of each ear cup support; and a microphone boom pivotally attached to one of the ear cups; an improved ear cup tensioning mechanism including a tongue extending laterally from each end of the headset band and a conformal tongue receiver located adjacent the other end of each ear cup support; wherein the tongue receiver is conformal with the tongue, and wherein the tongue and the tongue receiver are constructed and arranged to provide near-constant lateral pressure between the ear cups and a wearer's head. An improved ear cup seal includes an outer seal covering formed of urethane-coated expanded vinyl; an inner flexible layer formed of scythed urethane foam; wherein the inner flexible layer has a memory which returns the ear seal to its original configuration when pressure is released therefrom, and wherein the ear cup seal has a variable configuration having its thickest region behind and below a wearer's ear, along the wearer's neck, and having its thinnest region adjacent the front of the wearer's ear along the jaw line. An improved microphone housing includes a hard outer shell having a cavity therein; and sound-absorbing material located inside the outer shell which enclose the microphone element.

Aircraft headset

A shock absorbing fork for a bicycle having an air damping feature to rapidly and effectively diminish the cyclical motion of the struts of the fork resulting from the compression and expansion of the resilient shock absorbing pads provided in the struts of the fork when an obstacle is encounter by the front wheel of the bicycle. The struts have an inner cylinder slidably mounted in an outer cylinder with the pads captively mounted between the bottom of the inner cylinder and a member of the outer cylinder. An air chamber within the outer cylinder is contracted by movement of the inner cylinder into the outer cylinder and is expanded by movement of the inner cylinder out of the outer cylinder. The pads, as the inner cylinder is moved into the outer cylinder are compressed to absorb the shock and the air in the chamber is compressed. The compressibility of the air allows the fork to immediately respond to the impact force. In addition, the controlled exhaust of the compressed air to the atmosphere reduces the amount of impact energy that would otherwise be stored by the spring. The reduction in stored impact energy in turn reduces the cyclical rebound of the fork enabling it to reach equilibrium more quickly.

A gondola railway car with a structural frame of metal has panels of lightweight composite tension-bearing sheet material attached to the frame by clamps which grip the margins of the panels. The panels thus are structural components of the car body, while also acting to contain bulk cargo such as coal. The panels may be of aramid fiber cloth coated with a wear-resistant polymeric material, and particles of hard material may be embedded in the polymeric material to enhance resistance to mechanical erosion.

A steering fork for a bicycle that incorporates interchangeable steerer tubes to facilitate fitting the fork to bicycles having different steering head configurations. A crown of the fork has a hub with an internal taper that is arranged to receive a tapered end of a steerer tube. The mating tapers are press fit together by a tensioning bolt to fixedly secure the steerer tube to the crown of the fork. The portion of steerer tube extending from the tapered end is configured to fit the steering head of a bicycle to which the steering fork is to be mounted.

An adjustable frame for carrying vehicles between elongate upright sides preferably includes a length-adjusting mechanism for expanding the length of the frame to fit transport containers of different sizes, a friction-reducing mechanism for smoother, safer and faster lengthwise adjustment of the respective frame sections, and a door-protecting mechanism including not only the length-adjusting mechanism but also shock-absorbing bumper assemblies for protecting the container door, the frame and the vehicles on the frame through a reduction in the peak level of shock forces generated during collisions between the container door and the frame. Preferably, the adjustable frame has only two sections for faster locking and is configured to flexibly accommodate different vehicle lengths, including by support of a pair of vehicle wheels in a center position on the frame.
