A computer-implemented system and method for providing available parking spaces is provided. Parking spaces, each associated with a hold time, are monitored. A request for parking is received from a user. Available parking spaces near the destination are identified, and a location of the user is determined. At least two different routes from the user's location to one of the available parking spaces are identified. An arrival time of the user for each route is calculated. The route with the fastest arrival time is selected for that available parking space. Those parking spaces for which the user's arrival time is less than the hold time are selected as possible parking spaces. A number of the possible parking spaces is reduced by removing those available parking spaces that fail to satisfy one or more parking preferences of the user. The remaining available parking spaces are sent to the user for selection.

Computer-implemented system and method for providing available parking spaces

One embodiment provides a method for facilitating real-world interaction with virtual reality. During operation, the system receives, by a computing device from a virtual reality device associated with a user, instructions to configure physical components, wherein for a first physical component at a first location, the instructions indicate a type and an orientation, and wherein for a second physical component located at a second location, the instructions indicate a type, a length of extension, and an angle. The system executes, by a pose-adjusting unit, the instructions, which involves: physically moving the first physical component to the indicated orientation at the first location; physically extending the second physical component from the second location by the indicated length; and physically rotating the extended second physical component by the indicated angle. The system renders, on the virtual reality device, the configured physical components.

Method and system for facilitating dynamic materialization for real-world interaction with virtual reality

A computer-implemented system and method for providing available parking spaces is provided. Parking spaces are each associated with a hold time during which that parking space is held for a reserved vehicle. Shorter hold times are assigned to parking spaces associated with desirable parking variables and longer hold times are assigned to parking spaces with less desirable parking variables. A request for parking is received from a user. The hold time for each available parking space is applied to an arrival time of the user. One of the available parking spaces with the hold time greater than the user arrival time is identified. Prior to departure of the user from the available parking space, a time delay is introduced during which the available parking space occupied by the user is made available to drivers that physically approach the space upon departure of the user, and is not available for reservation.

A computer-implemented system and method for providing available parking spaces en route is provided. Each of a plurality of parking spaces are associated with a hold time during which other vehicles are prevented from parking within that parking space while available and prior to commencement of a reservation. A request for an available parking space is received from a user. One or more of the parking spaces are identified as available. A duration of time for arrival by the user to each of the available parking spaces is determined. The hold time for each available parking space is applied to the arrival time duration for that available parking space. At least one of the available parking spaces for which the user's arrival time duration is less than the hold time is selected and provided to the user.

Computer-implemented system and method for providing available parking spaces en route

A computer-implemented system and method for spontaneously identifying and directing motorists to available parking spaces is provided. Parking spaces are tracked to determine a status of each space. A destination of a user is received. At least one parking space is identified as available and near the destination of the user. An estimated arrival time of the user to the available parking space is determined. An arrival threshold is applied to the estimated arrival time of the user and a reservation offer for the available space is sent to the user when the estimated arrival time satisfies the arrival threshold.

Computer-implemented system and method for spontaneously identifying and directing users to available parking spaces

A computer-implemented system and method for tagging a parking space for a motor vehicle through a gesture is provided. Motor vehicle parking spaces are managed through a server. Smart parking devices physically proximate to the parking spaces are interfaced. Vehicle occupancy sensors also physically proximate the parking spaces are interfaced. Parking availability indicators associated with the parking spaces are interfaced. Those parking spaces that are unoccupied based on their respective vehicle occupancy sensors and currently available over any other reservations stored in the server are identified to a driver of a motor vehicle. One of the unoccupied parking spaces is reserved upon a gesture provided by the driver. Occupancy of the reserved unoccupied parking space is sensed through the nearest vehicle occupancy sensor following parking of the motor vehicle. The identity of the motorist is verified against the reservation through the nearest smart parking device.
