A multi-user mail box including a letter drop assembly which is susceptible to easy replacement by a delivery person without requiring substantial disassembly of the mail box. The letter drop assembly includes a slotted body held in inserted relation between cross-bars extending transverse to vertical frame members of an access door structure. The slotted body includes upper and lower open grooves oriented in opposing relation to the adjacent cross-bars. Retention pin elements are inserted axially into the grooves thereby holding the slotted body in place. The slotted body may be replaced by displacement of the retention pin elements.

A sterilization process is disclosed which utilizes an oscillating magnetic field to control the state of free radicals in a sterilizing media and which synergetically induces a molecular structural change in the microorganism, thereby increasing the vulnerability of the microorganism to the sterilizing media. This process significantly enhances the efficiency of the sterilizing media and reduces the exposure time necessary for a lethal dose to harmful microorganisms. It is also disclosed that this process can be used directly on living human tissue or fragile medical devices or implants with no detrimental effects to the patient. It is also disclosed that this process can be used on the hands of health care or food service personnel to reduce the likelihood of nosocomial infection.

Sterilization by magnetic field stimulation of a mist or vapor

A cooling system is disclosed which utilizes the molecular structural changes of photochromic compounds when they are exposed to various wavelengths of irradiation. Further, a design is disclosed which uses solar irradiation to activate the molecular structural changes. An alternate system of irradiation is disclosed which could be utilized in geographic areas of low incidence of sunlight or during inclement or occluded times in any area. An integrated panel is disclosed for installation on the external face of buildings in order to negate the need for ducting internal to the building. This will significantly increase the efficiency of cooling due to the removal of cooling loss in ducting and the proximity of the cooling system to the cooled space.

An energy-saving refrigeration system capable of reducing the quantity of energy and the cost required to operate refrigerators while contributing to greater efficiency in the operation of the utility facility that supplies the energy is provided by treating separately the functions of producing cold and using that cold to accomplish refrigeration. Cold is produced in a compressor, condenser evaporator combination, and is stored in a cold storage unit from which it is removed, by heat input, at selected times. The times of cold production and of cold utilization are selected so that they accomplish a continued and adequate refrigeration function while transferring most energy usage from the highest cost peak load period of the energy source to another time. Certain features, including a cold storage unit and shroud, enhance efficiency. The method of defrost and case condensation control additionally reduces energy required for evaporator frost and case moisture removal.
