A laminated glass retention system for securing a laminated glass subassembly within a window sash or frame member or door panel or similar component includes a retention member applied to the laminated glass subassembly. The retention member generally can include a leg portion that engages of the laminated glass subassembly, and can further include a base portion that is coupled to the frame member in which the laminated glass subassembly is seated. The retention member helps retain the insulating glass subassembly within its frame member when subjected to high winds and wind-borne debris.

A multi-paned fenestration unit in which the glass panes are manufactured directly into the support structure without first manufacturing an insulated glass unit. The support structure is designed to provide the structural support for the glass panes without a separate spacer.

A roof window assembly adapted to be mounted to cover an opening in a roof structure of a building and method of installing and removing the roof window. The assembly includes a glass unit and a sash member operatively connected to the glass unit. A frame member is adapted and configured to be secured to the roof proximate its opening. A detent arrangement is on the frame and the sash, wherein after the frame is secured to the roof, the sash is placed on the frame and the detent arrangement mechanically secures the sash to the frame.

A method for assembling a window is described including forming a lineal member having a cross-sectional profile, where the profile includes a sash portion and a frame portion, cutting the lineal member into lengths sized for forming the window, and joining the lengths of the lineal member to form a shape of the window. The sash portions form a sash and the frame portions form a frame. Then the sash is separated from the frame.

A computer module for use in combination with a desk wherein the computer is concealed within the desk to provide free work space and improved aesthetics. The computer module is shallow in vertical depth near the front of the desk to maximize leg and storage room beneath the front of the desk and to minimize visual impact. The computer module includes a deeper section near the rear of the desk to allow for the use of standardized computer components and connectors including a standard mother board and standard vertical expansion circuit boards. Furthermore the computer is designed to have a front to back dimension approximately equal to the front to back dimension of the desk. In this way, the user interface elements of the computer are flush with the front of the desk and the external connectors are flush with the back of the desk. Connectors through the side of the computer module for the keyboard, video display and mouse provide allow those components to also be modularly inegrated into the desk with their cables concealed within the desk cavity. In effect, the computer module makes the desk the computer.

A roof window includes a glass unit and a sash member having an inner surface. The sash member is sized and positioned over a frame, wherein the inner surface of the sash is stacked over and is substantially in alignment with the inner surface of the frame. The window may also include a glass retaining member and shroud operatively connected to the retaining member. Still further, the roof window includes a compression frame gasket and interior gasket.

A counterbalanced window operator includes a rotatable drive member operatively connected to the pivoting end of the window by means of an arm member (29). A spring (40) occupying a fixed orientation is operatively connected to the arm member (29) to counterbalance the torque transmitted from the window to the arm member (29). In a preferred embodiment, double scissors arm members (250a and 250b) include a pair of first arm members (251a and 251b) that define a first plane and a pair of second arm members (252a and 252b) that define a second plane at an oblique angle relative to the first plane when the window is in an open position.

A skylight assembly includes pultruded fiberglass sash members (11-14) operatively connected by means of corner locks (20). A frame (35-36) is operatively connected to the sash member and the frame is operatively connected to a roof structure. A gasket (50) is operatively connected to the frame. The sash member has an attachment flange positioned proximate the inside surface of the frame, wherein the window and sash member of the skylight assembly may be replaced from the inside of the building. The sash member is a multifunctional sash member.
