A non-pneumatic tire includes a plurality of springs. Each spring includes a first end portion, a second end portion, and an arching middle portion. Each spring is interwoven with at least one other spring thereby forming a toroidal structure extending about an entire circumference of the non-pneumatic tire. The toroidal structure is at least partially coated with an elastomer. One end portion of at least one spring is secured to a first bead spring adjacent a rim.

System for non-pneumatic support of a vehicle

A tire includes a plurality of helical springs. Each helical spring includes a first end portion, a second end portion, and an arching middle portion. Each helical spring is interlaced with at least one other helical spring thereby forming a laced toroidal structure extending about an entire circumference of the tire.

Apparatus for making a helically wound conductor includes a pulling mechanism for axially advancing a cable core and a guide mechanism for axially directing one or more secondary strand(s) from a location offset from the cable core toward the cable core at a common approach angle. A mandrel body is disposed at a forward end of the apparatus, the mandrel body having an axial passageway extending from a rearward to the forward end of the mandrel body dimensioned to axially receive the cable core therethrough and a forward radiused end positioned to intercept the secondary strand(s). The secondary strand(s) converge on the mandrel radiused end at a common approach angle, tangentially intersect respective locations of the mandrel radiused end, and follow the radiused end to intersect with the cable core.

Apparatus for making a helically wound conductor

A mandrel for use in a strander assembly includes a mandrel body having a forward radiused end and an axial cable core receiving passageway extending from a rearward to a forward end of the mandrel body. A cable core is routed through the mandrel body and one or more strands are positioned to converge on the mandrel radiused end. The strands engage the mandrel radiused end at a common approach angle and follow the radius of the mandrel forward end to intersect the cable core. Rotation of the strands relative to the cable core wraps the strands about the cable core, resulting in a finished wound cable construction.

A wire drawing machine includes a frame; at least one die operatively supported by the frame; at least one drawing block rotatably supported by the frame for use in drawing wire through the die; and, a motor for use in providing power. A belt system connects the motor to the drawing block so that the drawing block can be rotated. To adjust the speed and torque of the drawing block, the belt is removed and one sprocket is replaced with a second sprocket.
