A station (STA) affiliated with a non-simultaneous-transmission-and-reception (NSTR) multi-link device (MLD) obtains a transmission opportunity (TXOP) on a first link of an NSTR link pair as a TXOP initiator while a medium synchronization delay timer of the STA is non-zero. STA determines that an intended TXOP responder has lost medium synchronization. The STA then transmits a control frame as an initial frame in the TXOP to the intended TXOP responder on the first link responsive to the determining.

Medium access recovery mechanism for non-simultaneous-transmission-and-reception peer multi-link devices

Embodiments of the present invention provide A TID-based RTWT SP that can be configured for either trigger-based transmission or EDCA-based transmission for time sensitive traffic to reduce the chance of contention/collision on time sensitive traffic caused by non-time sensitive traffic using an EDCA mechanism. This can also reduce the chance of contention on time sensitive traffic when both trigger-based transmission and EDCA-based-transmission are used in the same TID-based RTWT SP. The AP MLD can dynamically adjust the schedule of TID-SPs for ether trigger-based or EDCA-based transmission and announce the new schedule of the TID-SPs according to the requirements of time sensitive traffic and/or traffic load condition, and can prioritize time sensitive transmission to meet QoS requirements.

Some embodiments disclosed herein use a virtual mac address of an LLC sublayer interface to define parameters values of an A-MSDU sub-frame header (e.g., SA and DA) for routing the respective frame to the LLC sublayer interface of the receiving device.

Embodiments of the present invention are drawn to electronic systems capable of transmitting a group addressed frame that identifies an MLD according to an MLD MAC address. The group addressed frame can include an ARP request, for example, and can be transmitted by an AP MLD responsive to an individually addressed frame transmitted by a non-AP STA MLD associated with the AP MLD. The AP MLD can provide a proxy ARP service for associated non-AP STA MLDs.

A physical protocol data unit (PPDU) transmission method includes: setting parameters of each of a plurality of links for enabling the plurality of links to have different capacity for PPDU transmission, wherein parameters of one link are different from parameters of another link, and highest capacity supported by the one link is higher than highest capacity supported by the another link; aligning an ending time instant of transmission of a first PPDU transmitted via the one link with an ending time instant of transmission of a second PPDU transmitted via the another link through setting a content that is carried by the first PPDU transmitted via the one link; and transmitting PPDUs via the plurality of links, wherein one PPDU is transmitted via each of the plurality of links, and the PPDUs include the first PPDU and the second PPDU.

Multi-link operations can provide higher network throughput and improved network flexibility compared to traditional techniques for wireless communication. Embodiments of the present invention provide a method of frame transmission that prevents constrained MLDs from transmitting and receiving frames on multiple links simultaneously using a novel and reliable group addressed frame transmission schedule for constrained MLDs. Group addressed frames are frames that are transmitted to several devices (e.g., broadcast) listening on a wireless link. It is important to carefully schedule group addressed frames for reception by MLDs to prevent IDC interference. According to some embodiments, group addressed frames are only transmitted when all MLDs listening on a wireless link are not transmitting data to prevent IDC interference.

Group addressed frame wireless transmission for constrained multi-link operation

Embodiments of the present invention provide methods and devices for discovering a multi-link device (MLD) on a wireless network. One exemplary approach includes transmitting a beacon frame including a MAC address of an AP MLD on the wireless network. The AP MLD includes a plurality of STAs operating on a plurality of wireless links and associated with a plurality of wireless MAC addresses. A password element is generated using a preconfigured password and the MAC address of the AP MLD, and authentication is performed using the password element.

Methods and devices for multi-link device (MLD) address discovery in a wireless network

An encryption mechanism used on cooperative multi-band wireless STA architecture that enables full duplex operations. In encrypting a frame, an AAD can be constructed by using a selected MAC address, which may not be associated with a band to be used for transmitting the frame in an upcoming TXOP. An STA that supports simultaneous transmission in a multi-band operation uses the same MAC address to encrypt the frames to be transmitted on different bands. An AAD is constructed by using a same MAC address corresponding to one of the transceivers. A transmit STA may specify band information used for encryption in the MAC header, which serves to signal the receive STA to decrypt the frame by using the proper information.

An apparatus (e.g., an access point (AP) establishes a plurality of links comprising a primary link and at least a secondary link.
