The method also includes accessing equipment of a target party of the communication to determine an attentiveness level of the target party with respect to equipment of the target party, to determine whether the target party is available to participate in the communication. The method also includes generating a notice at the equipment of the user that the target party is available; and initiating the communication between the equipment of the user and the equipment of the target party. Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, providing to a user device a video content item including at least one scene which includes a plurality of advertisement placement opportunities and determining a preference profile for an individual associated with the user device. Aspects further include selecting a group of matching advertisements having advertisement profiles that match the preference profile for the individual and determining a relative prominence score for each advertisement placement opportunity. Aspects further include ordering the matching advertisements according to prominence information specified for each matching advertisement, wherein the prominence information corresponds to a relative desired prominence specified by an advertiser associated with the matching advertisement. Aspects further include providing the ordered matching advertisements to the user device according to the respective prominence information so that a matching advertisement having a greatest desired prominence is displayed in the video content item at an advertisement placement opportunity having a highest relative prominence score. Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, embodiments for detecting a navigation application operating on a first communication device, and identifying a location of the first communication device. Further embodiments can include obtaining a first advertisement and a second advertisement according to the location of the first communication device as well as determining a first priority associated with the first advertisement and a second priority associated with the second advertisement. Additional embodiments can include determining the first priority is higher than the second priority resulting in a determination to present the first advertisement prior to the second advertisement, and providing the first advertisement, the second advertisement, and the determination to the first communication device. The first communication device presents the first advertisement within navigation content utilizing the navigation application prior to presenting the second advertisement within the navigation content based on the determination. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a synthesis engine having a controller, and a storage medium for storing instructions to be executed by the controller. The instructions, when executed by the controller, can cause the controller to retrieve collected information associated with a behavior of an individual, synthesize from the information a measure of a mood of the individual to interact with others, and transmit the measure to a system associated with the individual to manage requests between the individual and the entity. The measure of the mood of the individual can indicate an availability of the individual and a receptiveness of the individual to accept a request to interact with an entity. Systems and methods for managing interactions between an individual and an entity

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, storing, in a database, information associated with a first item purchased by a user, the information comprising an identification of the first item and a time of purchase of the first item; receiving web browsing data based upon monitoring, by another device, web browsing of the user; determining, based upon the web browsing data that is received, whether the user is currently browsing at a shopping website, resulting in a determination; responsive to the determination being that the user is currently browsing at the shopping website, querying the database to determine an elapsed time since the time of purchase of the first item; responsive to the elapsed time meeting a threshold, generating a message to send to the another device monitoring the web browsing, the message informing the user of a suggested second item for the buyer to purchase, the suggested second item being a replacement for the first item; and sending the message to the another device for presentation to the user. Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, embodiments for presenting a group of advertisements within media content by a software application on a display communicatively coupled to the communication device resulting in a presentation of the group of advertisements, and operating a virtual assistant application simultaneously with the software application. Further embodiments include detecting voice input from a user associated with the communication device using a voice recognition technique utilized by the virtual assistant application, identifying first user data based on the voice input associated with a group of advertising entities associated with the group of advertisements, and obtaining information regarding the group of advertising entities based on the first user data. Additional embodiments include determining a group of recommended actions according to the information regarding the group of advertising entities, and providing the user with the group of recommended actions. Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to aspects of in-store field-of-view merchandising and analytics. According to one aspect disclosed herein, a system receives a message from a user device. The message can include an orientation of the user device and a location of the user device within an environment, such as a store. The system can obtain a potential field-of-view of a user associated with the user device. The system can determine, based upon the orientation, the location of the user device and the potential field-of-view of the user, an estimated field-of-view of the user. The system can query a database to look-up items located within the estimated field-of-view. The system can receive, in response to the query, a query response identifying an item located within the estimated field-of-view of the user within the environment.

In-store field-of-view merchandising and analytics

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a media processor having a controller to record stereoscopic media content supplied by a multimedia system, receive from a communication device a request for the recorded stereoscopic media content, determine rendering capabilities of the communication device, generate transcoded content by transcoding the recorded stereoscopic media content according to the rendering capabilities of the communication device, and transmit to the communication device the transcoded content.
