An anise flavored liquid medication. The liquid medication contains phenylephrine and an anethole analog that is substantially free of aldehyde groups. In one example, the anethole analog can be 1-methoxy-4-n-propylbenzene.

The present invention relates to peroxide containing oral care compositions containing a flavor system that effectively masks the undesirable taste and sensations due to peroxide. The flavor system comprises menthol, at least one other secondary coolant and selected flavor chemicals that together provide a stable flavor profile and a high impact refreshing taste and sensation. The secondary coolant is selected from carboxamides, ketals, diols, menthyl esters and mixtures thereof.

Oral care compositions having improved consumer aesthetics and taste

Stable topical oral compositions comprising at least a minimally effective amount of chlorite ion are disclosed, wherein the pH of the final composition is greater than 7, the composition is essentially free of chlorine dioxide, and the composition is stable against loss of chlorite for a period of at least one year under normal storage conditions at about 25&deg; C. or for a period of 3 months under accelerated storage conditions at about 40&deg; C. Preferably the compositions further comprise a flavor system, which is stable against degradation by chlorite. The compositions are formulated as therapeutic rinses, especially mouth rinses, as well as toothpastes, gels, tooth powders, chewing gums, mouth sprays, lozenges (including breath mints), dental implements (such as dental floss and tape), and pet care products.
